I have written a positive review about Tasha’s in the past. I was really happy to see that an establishment had finally opened in Abu Dhabi that put a lot of care and effort into its food.

Unfortunately, I am back to write this review after my experience yesterday. To sum it up: its clear that the soul behind the recipes is gone. The staff are inattentive and just want you to eat and leave.

The lemongrass and ginger cordial tasted like sprite. I wouldn’t have known the difference had it not been for the piece of twisted lemongrass ginger in the drink. This beverage used to taste so refreshing and pleasant - now it’s just artificial flavors.

The Mexican quesadilla tasted like tortilla bread and beans. I did not taste any cheese or meat or anything else the menu promised. I would have ordered a bean quesadilla if I wanted to eat beans and bread.

The butternut salad seemed like a great dish. However, the massive pieces of squash did not taste fresh and were unseasoned. The few pieces of lettuce felt out of place in the storm of bland squash.

The chicken crunchy salad was extremely disappointing. The grilled chicken was charred beyond belief and I could only taste burned chicken. I was close to sending this back and asking the chef to try and eat the chicken but thought that the experience was already so negative, I didn’t need to push it any further. (Also, the menu said this dish would have almonds... no almonds in sight)

And for the not-so-grand finale: the chocolate cake. There was no cake... just frosting. Lots of very thick frosting. If there was actual cake in that dish, I really would have liked to taste it.

The service was not great. We ordered things that came late, incorrectly or didn’t come at all. The place was not crowded... there were only 3 other tables that were occupied.

I could give this place negative stars, I would. This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From terrible service to disgusting food, this restaurant is an absolute disgrace.

First off, the service was beyond slow. It took forever for anyone to even acknowledge us, and when they did, they acted like they were doing us a favor by taking our order. The food took an eternity to arrive, and when it finally did, it was a complete disaster. Cold, bland, and looked like it had been thrown together by someone who has never cooked before. It was borderline inedible.

But the worst part? The so-called manager, Kamal. Instead of addressing customer complaints professionally, he was dismissive, rude, and acted like we were the problem for expecting decent service and edible food. When I politely mentioned the issues, he rolled his eyes and gave the most half-hearted response possible—no apology, no solution, just pure arrogance. If this is how he runs a restaurant, it’s no wonder the place is a mess.

To make things worse, the restaurant was filthy. Sticky tables, dirty utensils, and an overall disgusting atmosphere. It honestly made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. If this is what they let customers see, I can’t even imagine what’s going on behind the scenes.

Avoid this place like the plague. Save your money, your time, and your stomach. There are plenty of other restaurants that actually care about their customers—this is NOT one of them.
