This evening my wife and I had the great pleasure of staying and eating at the Oak Room restaurant, which is located inside The Abu Dhabi Edition hotel. Words cannot describe the amazing experience we had at the restaurant. Everything there is meticulous and down to the smallest detail - the service, the food, the drinks. The lovely hostess named Prasa welcomed us and made us feel good from the first moment. We sat at the bar and the amazing and professional bartender prepared drinks and cocktails for us at the highest level. He kept us entertained while making a top notch cocktails. We then sat at a table and our server was Zo (Zoe). From the moment we sat down until we left, she took care of us at the highest level possible. She is professional, helpful, courteous, and made an effort above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and take care of everything we needed. There is no doubt that Zo is an asset to this restaurant and you can see her extensive experience in the hospitality industry. She turned a meal at the restaurant into an unforgettable experience - and that just shows how good she is at what she does. We also had the great pleasure of meeting Chef Fernando, who came to say hello and check with us how the meal was. So how was the meal? The food was top notch and one of the best we have ever had. The starter with fresh sourdough bread baked on site accompanied by Marmite butter was the prelude to the amazing food that would come later. The Herbs Ricotta dish was incredibly delicious with ricotta made on site and this is noticeable in its taste and velvety texture. For the main course we had the burger which was one of the best we have ever eaten. You could say it is a work of art, with each ingredient making a significant contribution to the taste and texture of the dish so that every bite is simply soft and tender. Our stay at the hotel was to celebrate our wedding anniversary, a fact that did not escape the restaurant staff, and Zo and Prasa accompanied the dessert we ordered with a personal letter from them and a rose for my wife in honor of the occasion. We were very moved by their attitude towards us, their care, and we felt that they were doing everything from the heart and not out of obligation. We would also like to mention Koshin, the assistant manager, who made sure to come to our table from time to time and check on us and that all our needs were met. In conclusion, we will say that this is definitely not the last time we will come to this restaurant. The entire restaurant team, starting from the management, the bartender, the chef, and of course the hostesses, led by Zo, gave us an experience that we will never forget. No superlative will be enough to describe how much we enjoyed every aspect of the restaurant.

The discreet entrance is hidden behind dark recessed wood paneling that could easily be missed, However, hidden behind these impressive dark wood panels resides a bar serving signature cocktails and three consecutive dining rooms with an exterior terrace lit with candles that make for the ideal spot for a romantic dinner, except we opted for one of the interior rooms.
The Library adjacent to the restaurant entrance was our preferred choice to have a few pre-dinner cocktails - classic Martinis. There are three intimate and elegant dining rooms featuring dark wood paneling, lush velvet green banquettes that are anchored by signature gold light fixtures, all bring a sense of modern sophistication. An equally impressive signature design element, a "Butchery Showcase". The meat cuts and associated paraphernalia are displayed behind a stunning glass showcase.
Before ordering our main courses, we were introduced to a charismatic and knowledgeable meat sommelier Charlie, a former butcher from West Sussex, England. A novel idea and indeed a first for us!
Equally talented and knowledgeable, the Wine sommelier had a modest selection of wines from around the globe, who guided us through the menu. We loved the place, the design, and the crowd, but most importantly the food and the service were...

Hidden behind dark recessed wood, the entrance is easily missed, but hidden behind the atmospheric panels lies a British rock and roll steakhouse with a soundtrack to match. Startling black and white images of Mick Jagger and David Bowie line the walls, while the bar makes for the ideal spot for a pre-dinner drink. In the adjacent dining room, bulbous gold light fittings set the tone with velvet banquettes bringing a sense of sophistication which is surpassed by the butchery. An equally impressive design element showcases the meat cuts and associated paraphernalia (saws, cleavers) behind glass casing.
The Master Kobe is a fantastic piece of meat, charred on the outside and delightfully tender within. It may be cliché but the meat from this particular cut really does melt in the mouth and the fat breaks down to help bring exceptional flavour. An acquired taste perhaps, the 400g Spanish Rubia Striploin (AED 390) is served with the bone-in for extra intensity and has a very pronounced flavour. The meat is particularly gamey with a unique almost venison-like profile. With a pleasing array of mustards, sauces and sides to select from all we can say at this point is don’t miss the Wagyu Fat...
