I was probably one of the first visitors to taste Biryani of this so called Hyderabadi Biryani restaurant five years back. I'm from Hyderabad and lived in the Abu Shagara and I was longing for a Hyderabadi restaurant since I was staying there from 2007. I was so excited to know that a Hyderabadi restaurant was about to open in the nearby vicinity but when I went there and spoke to the owner who is a Bihari just before the opening I realised this is not an authentic restaurant. There is nothing in the restaurant that can be called a Hyderabadi.
The restaurant is ok but then it should not call itself Hyderabadi restaurant as just calling dishes Hyderabadi will not make it a Hyderabadi restaurant. And most annoying thing is the owner himself who doesn't take the negative feedback sportingly and gets annoyed easily. Just look at his comments on the reviews.
And I'm not sure about now but back then in 2016/17 there were houseflies flying around when you sat to eat your dinner. It was so annoying and the owner said these flies will be there until so and so month...lol. I was also one of the first reviewer too and I had said then that this is not an authentic Hyderabadi restaurant and at my next visit the owner confronted me and asked why I had given negative review. I can't find my review now... maybe it is deleted or the owner created the new place in Google. But one thing I'll give it to the owner who has kept running this restaurant in such bad times of Covid. Salute to his resilience and keep working hard but please accept negative comments too. You can't force everybody to praise your restaurant. Concentrate on your restaurant and make it better people will automatically praise your restaurant!
All in all, don't create your expectations high thinking this to be Hyderabadi restaurant which it is not. If you want to taste authentic Hyderabadi Biryani in the Abu Shagara area then please visit Hyderabadiz restaurant in Al Qasimiya area near old furniture shops area. You'll...
Read moreThis weekend, I had the unpleasant experience of visiting one of the most bizarre restaurants in Al Sharjah along with my family. Once inside, you are greeted with the most distasteful environment. The ambience was not well-lit as well as the air-conditioners were not even working. To make matters worse, there was no hand wash as well as an awful smell in the washroom.
The service is the sort one that one would expect from a well-established restaurant, however, all the staff were rude and disrespectful. None of them appeared to be from Hyderabad.
After having endured all this, the thought of enjoying a good meal seemed to me impossible, We ordered their most famous Thali. All the items served in the Thali were ‘cold’ and was nowhere close to being authentic Hyderabadi food. The Samosa was stale, there was no paneer in the ‘Mutter Paneer’, the mutton pieces in the so called ‘Dum fresh mutton Biryani’ were not even cooked. All the desserts 'Kaddu ki Kheer’, ‘Double ka Meetha’ and Malpua tasted like they were made using chemicals and artificial sweeteners. The Haleem looked like canned-food.
Although the price is very less for the Thali- it's definitely not worth it.
We also expressed our dissatisfaction following our meal, the owner came across to be a very brash and rude person and kept giving lame excuses and even told us not to visit again.
People should not just ruin the name of Hyderabadi cuisine in this way. Never again will I lay eyes on this sorry excuse of a restaurant and I request everyone to give this a miss as there are many better food options...
Read moreWe decided to try the buffet yester for dinner. The place was empty but to be honest I went in at 10 pm. The starters for the buffet were decent. But the main courses had a bit of extra salt in them. That kind of ruined the whole taste. The mutton soup was really well made, but the grill items had gotten hard to a point where you could not bite into them any more.
The dessert section felt like they were made during the lunch time and were kept there till the evening buffet. The reason why I say so is because the apples were decisively turning red and the custard had a very sour taste due to the fruits being in it. The carrot halva also looked like it was made a while back and was not prepared for the evening buffet.
I have nothing to complain about my service and my server was kind and helpful. I would want to give this place another chance provided they make a little change in how they approach the issues...
