Cafe Isan (JVC, Circle Mall) - Authentic Thai Street Food Restaurant — Restaurant in Dubai

I’m a regular customer since the JLT branch, use to went to the restaurant very often even I lived so far away back then. The food is so authentic and just a taste from home. Was happy saw them opening a branch in JVC when i also moved to live in JVC , i still visit the restaurant regularly, but by time food tastes have been dropping (Chef changing i guess) Especially the Papaya salad (Isan stye) that used to be the dish i have to order every time , now i stopped. The beef noodles that i used to love it’s so much now is just a slim taste and a lot of carrot (which claim to be authentic food but carrot in beef noodles?). Food portion, understand maybe it’s inflation, but the taste ?? Also beef pad krapao is more like a fusion food now.

My assumption is , the restaurant has to adopt the taste to reach more customers. But for Thai who looking for a real taste like home, it’s disappointed.

Still love the taste of papaya salad made by the owner back in the JLT branch, would be nice if she can pass that on her staff.

I write the comment from over all experience that i have with the restaurant from very the beginning of the opening of this branch, as i said i visit regularly and want to always give it a chance, but it’s declining not improving.

Love to see the real taste back because i believe the owner is a good cook and she knows how a good food taste like 👍🏽

P.S. to be fair, for foreigners this restaurant is very good food seeing from my husband always wanna eat here but my comment is from Thai...

I moved to this area recently and found this restaurant on the maps and since I like Thai food, decided to give it a try.

This review I hope serves as a feedback for the chef to improve the food and is no way should be taken as an attack.

I ordered 3 things: Pad khra pao, chicken khao soi and Mango sticky rice, although I was only able to take a picture of Mango Sticky Rice.

Pad Khra Pao: This was decent and I liked it. I did order Thai medium spicy, but I'd order Spicy next time since I think they assumed I couldn't handle the spice, I liked the food.

Chicken Khao Soi: This takes away 1 of their stars for few reasons, Chicken Khao Soi is supposed to have a leg piece, but this one didn't have one, instead it was some random pieces of chicken that didn't belong in Chicken Khao Soi. Additionally, the noodles used were also not the type of noodles Khao Soi should have. But the soup was okay.

Mango Sticky Rice: This is where it turned from bad to worse. It wasn't mango sticky rice, it was mango pudding. Instead of using the proper seeds, they used sesame seeds, instead of sticky rice, it was a literal pudding, that also takes away 1 one more star.

I hope this is improved and next time I go, it actually lives up to it's name of being Authentic Thai Street Food. In which case I'll update the review.

Overall, the service and the atmosphere was good, I hope that the chef takes this into consideration and prepares the food that it's...

First and last forever to visit the name called Thai street food restaurant in Jvc ? Unfortunately they are serving Philiphina food instead of Thai I went to the wrong place to try Thai food and later I have to throughout the the food witch disappointing the flavor and realty of the cuisine, I ask for tom yum soup and it’s not the right I have to send back to kitchen twice to make Thai food flavor it’s never changed, the server don’t want take the customer concerns they have word to say it’s our standard? If you want to make food Buisness choose the concept and make it taste of the cuisine/ you can’t please everyone to make happy but don’t serve wrong food to the right people

The tom yum soup price 44 dh but ideally it’s worth 12 AED because it’s not standard tom yum soup to pay the value, with tom you soup I never Sen serving Indian Kashmir chilli flakes? On the side

Rice spoon served with soup you can’t really take the liquid it’s dropping off with flat spoon
