Eataly — Restaurant in Dubai

Eataly is literally my favorite Italian restaurant in Dubai! I wish I could give it 10 Stars if I could! I have been coming to this establishment since Dubai Hills Mall opened and this specific Eataly is the best one ever! Authentic mouth drooling pizza, authentic Italian atmosphere with a beautiful little market to compliment the restaurant, and most of all, authentic and wonderful people! The service is just second to none, the smiles on the faces of waiters and chefs just brighten up your day... Or night if your are having dinner. If you are into soups, I would recommend their Leek soup as a starter and make sure to drizzle some olive oil on your bread. For main course, there are many options honestly and I have tried so many but my favorite always happens to be the Pepperoni Picante which is a beautiful authentic pizza with a tomato base and pepperonis and anchovies. However, this might be a bit salty for some so it is definitely an acquired taste. You can try all other pizzas as they all do not disappoint! There is even one with squash and it's too good. Their pastas are also so delicious. Finally, their Gelato ice cream is just to die for! The nougat is like ice cream from the clouds.... I have been a frequent visitor to this restaurant in Dubai Hills, often ordering their pizza, pasta, and squid dishes, which my kids usually enjoy. However, my most recent visit left me deeply dissatisfied. I ordered the Seafood Pasta, Bolognese,Pizza, and Squid Starter. While the squid starter was very less in portion, the seafood pasta was shockingly lacking in seafood. For a dish priced close to 110 AED, I expected a generous portion of seafood. Instead, it contained only ‘two shrimp heads’ and ‘four or five tiny squid rings’—barely worth 20 AED in ingredients. The portion size was unacceptably small compared to other restaurants offering similar dishes at this price point.

The meal totaled 355 AED, which felt unjustified given the poor quantity of the seafood. To add to the frustration, the restaurant’s management did not address my concerns when I called to complain afterward.

The contrast was stark when I visited a well-regarded Italian restaurant in a Downtown Dubai hotel the very next day. Their seafood pasta was overflowing with fresh, high-quality ingredients at a comparable price, highlighting how subpar my experience at this Dubai Hills establishment had been.

While the squid starter and kids’ favorites like pizza and Bolognese remain passable, the inconsistency in portion sizes, lack of value for money, and unresponsive customer service have left me reconsidering...

We had an incredible lunch at L’Italy in Dubai Hills Mall, and it truly exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed, blending modern touches with a cozy Italian vibe, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal.

The food was absolutely fantastic. We tried the lasagna, pizza, coppa, and salad, and every dish was a masterpiece. The lasagna was rich and flavorful, with perfectly layered pasta and sauce that melted in your mouth. The pizza was baked to perfection with a crisp crust and fresh, high-quality toppings. The coppa added a delightful touch to the meal, and the salad was fresh and well-balanced, complementing the heavier dishes beautifully.

The staff were attentive, friendly, and ensured we had a great experience from start to finish. It’s clear that L’Italy takes pride in delivering not just great food but also exceptional service.
