My husband and I ordered butter chicken and lamb chops for mains. The bread rolls came without butter because the server said they ran out of butter- what kind of restaurant rans out of butter? While waiting for the food I went to the cake section and ordered a slice of gulab jamun cheese cake. I ate it and almost finished it before my lamb chops came. The Gulab Jamun cake is different and very delicious, it’s not very sweet. Next came our mains, my lamb chops were good but the serving is tiny. There were three tiny lamb chops and mashed potatoes, they also ran out of baby potatoes. I think that 98 Aed is too expensive for 3 tiny slices of lamb chops. My husband’s butter chicken was a little bit sad. The butter chicken was we thought too sweet. It also did not come with naan bread. It came with two flat bread, definitely not naan bread. My husband loves Indian food and this butter chicken is just plain SAD. For dessert I ordered a slice of brownie. The triple chocolate brownie was OKAY. My husband and I took 1 bite each and had it boxed. It was disgustingly sweet. My teeth hurt as soon as I took the bite. With my take away brownie, I ordered an extra slice of gulab jamun cheese cake, the server gave it to me in a box, a very beautiful box BUT unfortunately, I think it was the last slice of cake and the server just decided that she could still sell me the last slice. I got home and opened the beautiful box for my son to eat only to find out that it was the size of a half slice of whatever I ate at the restaurant. This is just so disappointing and disrespectful. The servers were Filipinos and usually Filipinos can be friendly on the outside but they take advantage of other Filipinos just because they can! This is just so pathetic. I am attaching a photo of the 44 AED slice of Gulab Jamun I had for take away for my son. ...
Read moreParking was slightly harder than usual in Dubai Hills mall, which ment we had to ascend to the 5th level of the parking, but found lots of places to park our car. Had to descend one floor and take a walkway right from the parking to the top floor of the mall next to Starbucks. Walked for ten minutes indoor, which isn't too bad. Arrived at 1:30pm on a Sunday to the restaurant. The place was very crowded. We never the less got a seat right away. The tablet with the electronic menu was not working. Got handed a physical menu right away. Made our selection. Beef Quesadillas for apatizer. Buratta Salad. Seafood Orzo. Mts Chicken Sliders. I ordered a mint lemonade. Got the lemonade first. It was refreshing. Shortly afterwards got some rolls with a side of garlic butter (was too sweet). We then waited for 25 minutes! But eventually all items arrived at once. The Quesadillas and Orzo were excellent. The Quesadillas got a slice of lemon, even though it didn't require it, but the Orzo arrived lemonless! Buratta was delicious but my daughter wondered why it doesn't come with leafy greens just heirloom cherry tomatoes! The sliders were the most average dish, my daughter swore she can make it at home ( I bet she can). Requested their Karak (Emirati milk tea), they ran out of it (they always run out because it is quite good)! We ordered Emirati Coffee with dates instead. Was the perfect end to a pleasant meal. I would encourage people to come here any time of the week. A proof that a crowded restaurant if managed well can be an excellent choice to eat even on a...

We stopped by Mitts & Trays on a hot summer afternoon, looking for a calm, cosy indoor spot, and this café turned out to be exactly what we needed.
From the outside, the mix of soft greys, whites, and natural browns gave a gentle draw; minimalist, elegant, and inviting. Inside, the space is bright and soothing with gold accents, white interiors, and a peaceful vibe that instantly made us feel at ease.
There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, but the indoor space is perfect for families, solo guests, or even quiet business meetings. We saw locals with strollers, others working quietly on laptops, it’s the kind of place where you can take your time.
We ordered the coconut matcha latte, which came in an insulated glass to keep it warm. It was smooth, creamy, and just the right balance of coconut and matcha, not too earthy, just comforting.
The vanilla fluffy pancakes were light and airy, topped with honey yogurt cream and fresh berries. Beautifully presented and not overly sweet.
The highlight for me was the Avocado on Toast, a rustic sourdough topped with marinated feta, sliced avocado. I added poached eggs, and they were done perfectly. Every bite was layered and thoughtful, with flavours that felt both fresh and quietly complex.
Service was lovely, the staff were warm and welcoming.
If you're looking for somewhere peaceful to enjoy a wholesome, beautifully prepared meal with a touch of elegance, Mitts & Trays is a wonderful choice. We’ll...
