Kai Enzo: A Fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean Delights
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kai Enzo, a newly opened Japanese Mediterranean concept restaurant that has taken the culinary scene by storm. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I knew I was in for a treat. The restaurant's clean and high-end ambiance, coupled with its breathtaking rooftop and panoramic sea views overlooking La Mer Bay, set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
One of the standout features of Kai Enzo was undoubtedly the delicious food. The fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean flavors was executed flawlessly, resulting in a food extravaganza for the senses. Chef Rajiv's personal touch was evident in every dish, as he skillfully combined ingredients and techniques from both cuisines to create truly unique and mouthwatering creations.
One dish that left a lasting impression was the sushi with caviar. The delicate balance of flavors and textures was a testament to the chef's expertise. Each bite was a luxurious experience, with the creamy caviar perfectly complementing the freshness of the sushi. It was a true indulgence for sushi lovers.
The gyoza at Kai Enzo were also a standout. These delicious dumplings were expertly pan-fried to achieve a crispy exterior, while the filling remained juicy and flavorful. The combination of Mediterranean-inspired ingredients with the traditional Japanese dumpling was a stroke of genius, resulting in a dish that was both familiar and exciting.
In addition to the exceptional food, the drinks at Kai Enzo were also a highlight of the dining experience. Bar manager expertise in mixology was evident in every sip. The drinks menu featured a selection of exclusive and creative cocktails that perfectly complemented the flavors of the food. Whether you're a fan of classic concoctions or enjoy venturing into more adventurous territory, the bar at Kai Enzo has something for everyone.
To top it all off, the service at This restaurant was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make the dining experience memorable. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The attention to detail and the genuine passion for delivering exceptional service truly set Kai Enzo apart.
With its clean high-end ambiance, stunning rooftop, and sea views overlooking La Mer Bay, Kai Enzo provides a dining experience that is as visually breathtaking as it is delectable. If you're in search of a unique and unforgettable dining experience, I highly recommend...
Read moreLiving in Dubai for the last 19 years and making this place home, I’m always the one defending this amazing country from everybody who says Dubai is fake and Dubai is obnoxious. But at times there are places which try and prove this exact sentiment right.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a rebel, I respect every business’s policies to decide the dress code. We were told on the phone that the dress code is smart casual. No specifics. As you’re aware this is a very broad categorization and given the 50 degree summer and humidity in August, if you pair a nice pair of dress shorts with a shirt and sneakers, in my mind that would be perfect.
There are places which clarify if shorts are not allowed. But we weren’t specifically told that shorts are not allowed.
We turned up and were turned down. We were told that the restaurant keeps trousers for their guests but they just had one super oversized trouser. The lady who had taken our reservation accepted that she only informed us that the dress code is smart casuals and did not clearly say that shorts are not allowed. But despite the fact that it was her mistake, they did not budge.
Neither the restaurant decor nor the brightly lit interiors conveyed the feeling of the posh place they trying to project by saying my shorts do not fit the definition of smart casuals.
This attitude is what gives Dubai it’s pretentious tag which is highly disappointing and I would never give this business my money. I’ve left a picture just in case some of you reading this think I would’ve been...
Read moreVery good food but quite expensive with small portions so you end up feeling like you didn't really get your money's worth. There are literally no side dishes accompanying the main plates so you are obliged to order (and spend) more. We did not leave full and spent 600+dhs for 2 people with no alcohol and choosing only moderately priced items on the menu: there were about 6 tiny makis for 110dhs, there are 3 salmon sashimis OR 2 nigiris for 47dhs (not BOTH as I initially thought) which must be the most expensive salmon sashimis I've ever had, a small bowl of baby potatoes at 40 something dhs, a small bowl of mushroom rice at 50 something dhs, etc etc, you get the idea. This approach would be understandable if the location of the restaurant was in some upscale hotel/development like DIFC but it's in a mid-range hotel and mid range development which makes the concept/pricing feel a little incongruent. But perhaps Dubai people are used to this phenomenon so it won't be such a deterrent. I probably won't be back. There was almost no one else there during Saturday lunch so definitely lacking in atmosphere (for lunch anyway) and it was a little warm, in December, which may be understandable considering its skylight roof but makes me wonder what it's like during summer? Nice views though. Oh and the service...
