Overall experience is 2, for such high expectations of how a wannabe fancy place should provide. Obviously the awards they received are really misleading. Seems like awards are all about politics.
I will state the pros also, please read full.
Cons: No paper menu, only QR code. Well, a phone is small and I won't carry or buy a smart phone just for the restaurant. Many costumers think this way, the restaurant must cater to everyone. Further more, it is difficult to read a pdf menu on a small screen. I recommend to print the menu on the paper table cover or a few A4 paper pages for elder people or people like us and this won't go against covid rules. The QR code sign still remains a contact point for every guest because everyone touching it, so no point having it. JUST HAVE A FEW PAPER MENU please! It is clean! Could be disposable if needed.
Food is not up to par, portions are also small for such a high price. Souvlaki skewers were dry! So as their "signature" drilled octopus for 80+ AED. Tasted either overcooked or was frozen before. Left half of it as there was nothing to enjoy in it.
This price and quality does not worth it at all, people go there because it is fancy, trendy and have alcohol and they certainly have no taste for quality. If you want a real good and traditional Greek food where Greek people go, at another block at JLT there is one.
Pros: Service for us at least was ok. Washroom nice and clean. Great overall ambiance.
Overall really disappointed, will not go back. If they keep doing it this way, I would not be surprised if the customer number would drop. On the other hand, sad to see some people call...
Read moreVisited Mythos on Friday 25/08. We were a group of 4 and had a booking for 10pm. We arrived on time and were informed that the table 'wouldn't be long'. Ten minutes passed and we asked again, to which Diya (the host) replied, with a smug look on his face, that it will be 'soon', when pressed by us 'in a bit'. He also confirmed that when we had made the booking for 10pm he really meant that we would be seated some time between 10 and 10:30 (10:30 at the latest). Very unusual assumption to make, the table was booked for 10, we had made a booking but were still expected to wait another 30 minutes. It reached 10:30, we enquired again and Diya confirmed they were clearing the table. It wasn't until 10:45 when we finally sat down.
The food and the waitstaff were lovely and attentive and it's such a shame that the face of the restaurant is treating customers with such disrespect. Really really disappointing experience. I hope the owner understands how the restaurant is being portrayed. While we were waiting another group walked out because they had been waiting so long.
EDIT: Response below is incorrect. Originally booking was for 8pm outside. After this was discussed between the group we called and moved the booking to 10pm so we could sit inside (two of people have asthma and the outdoor courtyard is full of smoke). We were not advised on the phone that we would be seated 45 minutes after our booking time. We didn't receive an apology and you were asked at least 3 times how long the table would be prior to finally seating...
Read moreWe loved the restaurant when we visited a couple of weeks ago and decided to book here for a little celebration this evening. Sadly, nobody asked the reason for our booking at any point - a missed opportunity by the team. Upon arrival, we were greeted in a friendly and professional manner. We then proceeded to sit and order both food and drinks fairly quickly. Sadly, the food took longer than it should have, for which the waitress did actually apologise when serving the food. We ordered the mixed grill, to try to sample a few of the dishes which had been recommended to us, and unfortunately not a single item was served to the right temperature. The lamb chop was overcooked, lacking in flavour, contained very little meat. The steak was cooked as requested but served only slightly warm (rather than hot). The chicken skewer (yes, just 1 share!) was very tasty, but also not served hot enough, and clearly not enough for 2 people. The meatballs were the only item that were adequately heated upon arrival. Sadly they were somewhat bland. The waitress made zero effort to engage with us - evidently just ticking the boxes of basic service. I had hoped to be able to pick out a manager, but there was no evidence of any management presence whilst we were there. So, in summary we left significantly disappointed by both the service and the food. I do not think we will be returning anytime soon. Which is a huge shame, as we love the venue and had heard such great things about the quality of...
