After performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia, I decided to spend a few days in Dubai on my way back home to Houston, Texas. One of my friends suggested we dine at Occo Restaurant, and I must say, it was one of the most remarkable dining experiences I’ve ever had.

From the moment I stepped inside, I was mesmerized by the breathtaking décor. The ambiance was elegant and exuded sophistication, leaving me curious about the creative genius behind the interior design. When I inquired, the manager introduced me to none other than the owner, Mr. Warsi. Meeting him was an unexpected delight! He was incredibly down-to-earth and shared how his passion for interior design brought Occo to life. In addition to running this phenomenal restaurant, Mr. Warsi is also a builder in Dubai, owning several residential and commercial properties—a true visionary.

What took the experience to the next level was the rooftop. Mr. Warsi personally took us there, and it was simply magical. The atmosphere was even more impressive, highlighted by a massive 250-inch weatherproof TV screen mounted on the wall. Knowing Dubai’s challenging heat, this innovative addition was a testament to their attention to detail and commitment to providing a top-notch experience for their guests. Now, let’s talk about the food—undoubtedly the star of the evening. Everything we tried was exceptional, but the dynamite prawns were out of this world! The menu offers an incredible variety of dishes and desserts, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The flavors, presentation, and quality were all impeccable.

Occo is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience. I can confidently give it a 10/10 and wish they would open a franchise in the USA. If you’re in Dubai, visiting Occo is an absolute must. Occo Restaurant in Hessa Street, Barsha is the perfect definition of modern elegance meets cozy charm. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm, welcoming reception and interiors that are nothing short of stunning—chic design, gorgeous décor, and a beautifully inviting ambiance.

The staff here set the gold standard for attentiveness—alert, friendly, and always ready to ensure guests feel valued. From the first greeting to the last goodbye, the service was impeccable, making the entire dining experience effortless and enjoyable.

The Arabic food selection is simply outstanding—flavorful, authentic, and beautifully presented. The crème brûlée was a delightful surprise, perfectly torched and indulgent. An added highlight is the unlimited sheesha, which pairs perfectly with the relaxed, upbeat-yet-chill music and the refreshingly uncrowded setting.

The table presentation is stylish and thoughtful, and although the restaurant is alcohol-free, it’s ideal for unwinding with friends or family. Every corner is spotless, and even the washrooms are elegant and well-maintained, reflecting the attention to detail that Occo is clearly proud of.

DO NOT PARK VALET — A WARNING! While Occo may be a trendy weekend spot to catch up with friends, the chaos of its weekend crowd is only made worse by the complete lack of public parking. A few weeks ago, my friend and I made the mistake of handing his car over to their valet service. An hour later, we returned to find the hood of my car suspiciously open. When I questioned the valet staff, they attempted to cover up what had happened with one of their employees. My friend tried to start the car, only for the engine to shut down completely. They eventually admitted they had left the engine running for an entire hour, causing it to overheat and billow smoke. And when approached by officers, they blamed the car being an "old" model, which was functionally fine for all the past years.

Three weeks later, we are still dealing with thousands in repairs and the likely replacement of my entire engine. The level of negligence displayed by this valet company is beyond unacceptable, and it reflects extremely poorly on Occo’s management for partnering with such an irresponsible service.

For a city like Dubai, known for its high standards, this is an embarrassing lapse. I strongly urge others to avoid the valet at all costs. This experience has turned what should have been an enjoyable evening into a prolonged,...
