Well, after one decade in Dubai and many reasons to write tone of the reviews, I have never done it, unfortunately now I felt is time to do so!
Wonderfull arrival from the concierge team at Raffles The Palm 🤩 and SO well done to Mr.Peter and his amazing smile! Great hospitality!
Additionally, when we entered the restaurant the hostess was very approachable and providing us with table for two.
The first waiter who touched the table was so kind with good smile on his face. We highlighted we’re here just for a small bites, glass of wine and explore the place..
Sommelier came to our table offering us the wine list, sadly, when he saw that we want to go with glass of wine, immediately his face expression change and desperately rotate with no attention on our table anymore. Surprisingly, we have observed he spend lovely time with a couple on the table next to us, well, they had a bottle of red wine…Seemed to be that ’click’ with guest exists “only” if you are a good spender! Hmm..ok!
We ordered some cold starters and 2 glass of sparkling wine and bottled water.
The waiter who served us was different than the one who welcomed us, our waiter was without empathy and not really happy and satisfied, and with very low communications skills, especially when he saw that we will not go with main courses (which he insisted a few times to order).
Service was not professional when we ordered 2 espresso, one ristreto and one a bit longer in the small cup. We have received 2 identically same ones! Where my husband explained again how we would like to have the espresso we just got the same one topped with water 😒
I’m thinking loud, does my assumed cost of 2dhs for that espresso will “cost to much” a such a reputable place to be replaced with a new one…hmm, I don’t think so. But still, our server decided not to replace, since manager wasn’t available and visible to pass and say hi..
Sadly, it’s not an end for our experience. Glass for the water was not clean at all, and dirt was so visible on the edge of glass. When we highlight that, he just collected without sincere apologies, and returned with another glass and bottled water hardly apologizing. There was no approach from the managment side again, even doubting he/she was aware of anything happened on our table..
The place it’s lovely, the food taste and presentation is really outstanding, such an amazing location for sundowners, however bad service its what we remember..
Will I come again? Definitely, if service is improved and changed, with more engagement, as well eliminating that “judgement” point...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Piatti, a Mediterranean and Italian restaurant 2 times, and I must say that it left a lasting impression on me. During my second visit, which took place in the afternoon at 14:30, both the receptionist and waiter went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I had an enjoyable dining experience. They were attentive, friendly, and displayed a genuine passion for providing excellent service. Even our two kids were well taken care of, making us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our meal.
The menu at Piatti offers a delightful array of Mediterranean and Italian dishes, and we had the opportunity to try several of their specialties. The Amalfi dish was a standout, bursting with delightful flavors that truly captured the essence of the region. The Tagliolini allo Scoglio was a perfect combination of pasta and seafood, resulting in a delicious and satisfying dish. The grilled salmon with endives (Salmon Con Indivia) was also a highlight, with the flavors beautifully complementing each other.
However, I must admit that the fingered fried sea bass fell a bit short of my expectations. While it was still tasty, I found it to be more reminiscent of fast food rather than the exceptional quality I had come to expect from Piatti. Nevertheless, this was a minor setback in an otherwise flawless dining experience.
The overall quality of the dishes, combined with the exceptional service, made my visits to Piatti truly memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exquisite dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Mediterranean cuisine or Italian classics, Piatti is sure to impress you with its delectable offerings and attentive staff. I am already looking forward to my next visit and exploring more of their...

We had an extremely disappointing experience at the Italian restaurant during our stay, which did not meet the standards expected from such an establishment.
It started with the rain upon arrival. We were seated at a table for six but were completely ignored—no one welcomed us, offered drinks, or gave us menus. After 15 minutes, our butler noticed the issue and intervened. A server eventually brought menus but didn’t say a single word. It felt unprofessional and cold.
When we tried to order pizzas, we were told they weren’t available due to the rain. This should have been communicated earlier! Adding to the frustration, we weren’t offered a wine or drinks menu the entire evening.
When the food arrived, the portions were shockingly small—my dish had just nine ravioli. Basic accompaniments like parmesan, olive oil, salt, and pepper were missing, and we had to ask for them. We shared our concerns with the manager, who apologized and blamed the rain for disrupting their service. While I understand this may have been an exceptional situation, it is no excuse for such poor service.
The worst part of the evening came as we were leaving. We had arrived with five umbrellas and left with only three. A staff member stopped us at the entrance, asking for the umbrellas back, claiming they were “reserved for other guests,” as if we weren’t clients ourselves. This was deeply embarrassing and entirely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.
Overall, this experience was far below expectations and left us very disappointed. Such service and behavior are simply not what one expects from a luxury...
