Sultan's Lounge — Restaurant in Dubai

This valentine's day we zoomed in and visited 'Sultan's Lounge' @ Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. The place had some valentines vibe (though a little more was advertised).

Hot drinks along with the pastry stand (photos) were served right away and we strongly feel it was value for money with the variety served along with a special choco pastry added for valentines. We really enjoyed the hospitality especially from Miss Gea whose friendly attitude made us feel home.

Despite having these positives, we were disappointed while checking out when we requested the staff to help us pack the remaining items on the stand (almost half was leftover). We always live by the principle of not wasting food which was unfortunately against the hotel policy that prefers wasting the leftovers rather than helping us utilising the food for some good cause.

After a long debate and having agreed to sign an indemnity, the manager (Mr Ajay) agreed to get the food items packed. After sharing our feedback, we happily carried the box back home.

To our disappointment what we saw was only 3 of the 7 leftover pastries with no 'choco pastry' that was almost untouched. In addition, the manner it was packed led all items to have been smudged together making these un-consumable.

We only recommend the place should you feel you are able to consume all what is served or support...

Giving it 1 star even though not yet there in advance because whoever picked up my phone for rescheduling my reservation doesn’t know how to talk in an attentive manner. I called and asked to direct to sultan’s lounge, and had to wait for 4 minutes and the line got disconnected! Seriously?! A 5 star hotel and this is how it works? Then i called the second time, someone picked the phone up but just hang up on me. Then I called again! The same damn person picked up the call. I told her i had to wait and all just not and i want her to direct the call to sultan’s lounge! She said she will be assist me!! Are you kidding me? If you can do it why didnt you tell me at the beginning to save my time!!! And seriously the same person hang up for the second time i called! At the end once the reservation was rescheduled. She didn’t even say a word. The way she spoke, personally for me was not attentive and i feel like she’s bothered by the call! I had a call with one of the staff the other days and she is so attentive and polite! Train your staff on how to assist the customers in such a manner because your staffs are your images and will decide if the customer will come...

Afternoon tea fit for a sultan — and a teddy bear 🫖🐻 We love going to afternoon teas when we travel. We spent the afternoon at Sultan’s Lounge and it was every bit as fancy (and fun) as it sounds. Gorgeous setting inspired by Ottoman palaces, towers of treats, endless tea. The setting alone is worth the visit — think marble, chandeliers, and serious old-world glam. They even have fancy chocolate bears you get yo take home! The sweets and sandwiches were excellent but the lemon curd and scones were my favourite! The Hotel is stunning with lots of great opportunities for glamorous photos. The service was ok, staff were friendly but not very attentive. We had to ask for water 3 times before we got it and they didn’t check back to offer more tea or just to check in. But perhaps the servers were new. It’s worth the trip.
