Great Seafood, Good Service – But a Bit Pricey & Noisy
Visited this place recently and had a largely positive experience. The food was delicious and freshly prepared — a real treat for seafood lovers. We started with the Seafood Soup, which was rich and flavorful, perfect as a warm-up to the main dishes. The Sister of Fish Malai Tikka really stood out — beautifully marinated, creamy, and grilled to perfection. The Fish Pollichathu was also a hit — well-cooked, spiced just right, and served with great presentation.
Portion sizes were modest but sufficient for three people. It’s not the kind of place where you get huge servings, but the quality of the food made up for it.
What really impressed us was the service. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, courteous, and helpful. They guided us well with the seating and throughout the meal. It felt like they genuinely cared about the customer experience, which added to the overall enjoyment.
That said, there were a couple of things that could have been better. The ambience was quite noisy — lots of people talking loudly and the background music was turned up high, which made it difficult to have a comfortable conversation. It’s not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet dining experience.
Also, prices were on the higher side, especially for seafood items like grilled fish. I’d recommend asking about the prices beforehand — particularly for special items like the grill platter or fresh catches — to avoid any surprises on the bill.
Despite these small drawbacks, it’s definitely a place worth trying if you enjoy seafood. Next time, I plan to try the Fish Grill Platter and explore more of their seafood offerings.
Would I recommend it? Yes, especially for the food and service — just be mindful of the noise...
Read moreI had an absolutely wonderful experience at De Fish Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere, stylish decor, and the subtle ocean-themed touches that made the space feel fresh and relaxing.
The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They greeted us with warm smiles, offered helpful suggestions, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. The service was quick but not rushed, and we felt genuinely cared for. Especially from our waiter, Abin. He was incredibly polite, professional, and genuinely warm. Abin greeted us with a friendly smile, guided us through the menu with great recommendations, and made sure we had everything we needed at just the right moments. His calm attitude and attention to detail made our dining experience feel extra special.
Now, the food — simply outstanding! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I tried the grilled prawns, butter garlic crab, and their signature fish curry, and each bite was delicious. The seafood tasted like it had just come out of the ocean — perfectly cooked and seasoned. Even the sides like the lemon rice and fresh salads complemented the main dishes perfectly.
One of the highlights was the presentation — the dishes looked as good as they tasted. The care they put into plating really made the meal feel special.
The ambience was cozy yet elegant, with soft lighting and light background music that made it a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner with friends or family. It’s also very clean and well-maintained, which I always appreciate.
Overall, De Fish Restaurant gave me a 5-star experience. It’s a must-visit for seafood lovers and anyone who enjoys high-quality food with excellent service. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreIt was our first time dining here, and we had absolutely no expectations at first. The restaurant's ambience was very good, so we decided to dine in.
We were three, and the menu was quite extensive. Unable to pick anything in particular, we decided to order the seafood mix grill and Kappa. Before our orders reached our table, we were greeted with a ginger shot and a lovely little salad bowl it was all fresh.
The mix grill platter was quite a portion, featuring half a grilled lobster, shrimp and prawns in coconut milk curry, a big half fish grilled with very indian mild spices soft and juicy along with fish tikka and kebabs. It also included a bowl of calamari fry, grilled mussels, and French fries. Additionally, we were served a bowl of hummus, garlic sauce, green chutney, and bread along with the grill. Almost all the items on the platter were fresh, well-made, and delicious. The calamari fry and fries were savored by my four-year-old daughter. The portion size was good enough for three people.
We also wanted to try the Kappa (tapioca), and the waiter was kind enough to provide a small bowl of fish curry to complement it. It was an absolutely delicious dish that left us in a sea of nostalgia.
Apart from the food, one must appreciate the effort that went into the ambience of the restaurant it was classy, well maintained, and very neat.
The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful in choosing the right items from the menu, with special thanks to Mr. Safnan for his service. We will...
