Let me start off by complimenting the atmosphere. The sitting area outside, at the time I write this review (2am) is very soothing. Their choice of not very obnoxious music is great and allows for conversation to be easily had if you've come here with someone. That, accompanied with the yellow lights, makes it a very welcoming experience. (The picture gives you an idea of the atmosphere of the place. Definitely worth a sit during better weathers.) Now, in regards to the food, it's a mixed bag. We ordered a couple of things off the menu, this includes: - Ceasar Salad - Chicken Sando with Sweet Potato - Chicken Strips And a Ramadan special: Date Pudding. The Ceasar Salad was great, and the portion was more than enough for two people. I do not recommend the portion for a single person. It tasted great, and since I ordered it with the chicken, it complimented it well. However, their crackers had a fishy aftertaste but it is easily ignored in the other great tastes of the salad itself. The Chicken Sando was disappointing. For what you're paying, you'd expect a more premium tasting experience. However, it did not taste like anything that's worthy of remembering. On the other hand, I found that their sweet potato was actually decent and I enjoyed it. Their Chicken Strips was a similar disappointment, however it was mostly due to the breading. The breading of the strips felt like it was appropriate for shrimps and not for chicken strips. Aside from that, the chicken was juicy and edible to say the least. Lastly, we come to the Ramadan Special, the Date Pudding. I expected much more from this pudding than what was presented. It had an alright presentation, but the taste was lackluster. The ice cream on top tasted better than the 'pudding' itself. Overall, a very chill place with, sadly, mostly mediocre food. The Ceasar Salad was really good but that's where the compliments for the food ends.

Paper Fig is a well-kept secret in the heart of the University area of Sharjah. A desert shop meets restaurant, the menu includes a wide selection of starters, mains, sides, salads with a focus or tilt towards directionally healthy eating. The Asian salad is a delicious fresh and crunchy collection of red cabbage, carrots and sesame oil glistening chilled noodles. The aubergine fatteh is another reason why we should eat more vegetarian food showcasing the versatility of aubergine with a tomato ragu and fried pitta chips shattering to the tooth. The atmosphere is a touch of local library meets café with reclaimed wood styled panelled walls, lots of communal bench eating and also smaller bistro tables. It would not be a complete visit without checking out the desert selection including some impeccable small cakes as well as a deliciously nutty pecan pie. Thanks to Shakeel for looking after us.

I was so excited to try this coffee shop that everyone has been raving about, but I have to say, I was completely let down. The tiramisu that I had high hopes for was a major disappointment. It was just an average dessert, served in a mundane paper cup as if I was grabbing a coffee on the go. I expected so much more from a place that boasts such a high reputation. To make matters worse, I waited around 10 agonizing minutes for the Emirati hot chocolate, only to be served a lukewarm and lackluster drink. The chocolate quality tasted cheap and lacked any real depth of flavor. I was shocked by how far from my expectations this coffee shop fell. I must admit, I don't know if this was just a terrible day for them or if this is the norm, but I am willing to give them another chance. I can only hope that my next visit will be a vastly different experience.

Tried this place several times trying to give it another chance each time. for a more relaxed and higher grade of service and quality of food go to AZARU thats one block up. first time I went with my friend, we were the only two customers and the waiter had to ask which table to take the order from?? we were a little surprised with the prices but with the good food we decided it was worth it. went back a few months later and it was FULL! my daughter and I were sat by the window on the communial seats and were forgotten about for 15 minutes. I went over and ordered by the counter. the 2 drinks we order ( milkshake and juice) took 15 minutes to reach us which isn't acceptable for just 2 drinks. we waited another 10 minutes trying to get the waiters attention, again to no avail. went AGAIN to the counter to pay and leave. Went back yesterday to a HORRIBLE experience. I always go for breakfast and get the eggs Florentine. this time the service fast but the English muffins were soaked in so much oil/butter. all I could taste was the oil residue in my mouth. decided to let the supervisor know that this is how I got my order and he decided to challenge me and say well your the first to say this, and continued to insist that well maybe it was just me.. I didn't ask for a replacement I was going to finish eating it but due to his attitude and because I was disappointed by his LACK of understanding I asked for the bill, he resisted again and after asking him politely 3 times!! for the bill, he still didn't listen. I put down my cutlery, grabbed my bag and headed to the counter to pay for my bill. he insisted for me not to pay as he was upset that i wasnt satisfied but I refused and wanted to pay as I ate half the plate. the plus side is the free parking but if your not their by 9am it's all taken. I was super keen on enjoying this place but turns out it's not the...

Good food but it took for ever to get the food and drink took for ever to get. When we did get food and drink it was one at a time. That's not a big deal if one is trying to try each dish separately but when eating with someone else and only your meal is server separately. The attention was below average. One of my least favorite experience when dining out.. although I would give it a 1 star because it the truth is the food was very good. It just made it to long of an experience more that anyone would like to wait for a meal. It would of been understandable if it was busy or host was on multiple tables at ones but that was not the case. And it would of been more acceptable if waiter said something like "sorry for the delay your food would be right out" or something along those lines. But at the end the gentleman was kind enough after a complain (one should not need to complain for someone to say hey sorry for delaying or thanks for your patience) on the delay he explained that their system was slow as they need to click orders for the kitchen. Not sure what happen to pen and paper to make orders faster. Two meals and two drinks. Total wait time for 1hour and 30min. Will probably try again sometime in future as I don't like leaving bad reviews. As I said 20 min wait...
