I recently visited Salkara Restaurant located on the top floor of Ansar Mall, Sharjah, and it was a truly satisfying experience. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming vibe with a touch of nostalgia in its décor, which instantly makes you feel comfortable.
We ordered Mutton Biriyani, Thalassery Chicken Biriyani, Payola Chicken, and Lime Juice. The Mutton Biriyani was flavorful, with tender pieces of meat and just the right balance of spices. The Thalassery Chicken Biriyani stood out with its distinct Kerala-style preparation – aromatic, mildly spiced, and cooked to perfection with fragrant rice. The Payola Chicken was a pleasant surprise, rich in taste with a slightly tangy and spicy blend that paired well with the biriyanis. To balance it all, the Lime Juice was refreshing, light, and the perfect way to round off the meal.
The service was friendly and quick, and despite the place being busy, the staff managed everything efficiently. Portion sizes were generous and reasonably priced, making it great value for money.
Overall, Salkara at Ansar Mall is an excellent spot for authentic Malabar flavors in Sharjah, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone craving traditional Kerala-style biriyanis and dishes. After publishing my below review, I received a call from the Restaurant manager Mr. Jignesh. He patiently listened to my concerns and assured that they will improve the food and the quality. In fact, the polite behavior and the positive attitude of Jignesh was very impressive. It is nice to know that there are excellent Managers like Jignesh. Hats off to Jignesh and the customer support. I am sure that they will improve their food quality.
We ordered Schezwan fried rice, Beef Ularthiyathu and parotta. Schezwan was too spicy and it doesn't tasted like Schezwan. There was no Schezwan sauce added in the rice. In short it tasted like a Kerala fried rice. Beef was also too spicy but was ok. Parotta was dry and tasteless. overall, the food was not good as expected. The quality and taste which they had before is not now in their foods. They have to concentrate on the quality and also its hard time to improve the taste. The food was delivered on time. The delivery boy was very polite and...

Read moreI usually visit Salkara for meals, and I've always had a great experience at their various branches. So far, I've visited three of their locations in Dubai, and I noticed that the food quality is consistently excellent across all of them. This was actually a pleasant surprise to me, as I wasn’t expecting such uniformity in taste and quality at different branches. While I haven't tried every dish on the menu, the meals themselves are absolutely delicious and definitely worth the price. There's no need for extra side dishes, as the meal portions are filling and satisfying on their own.
The staff at each branch are well-mannered and provide good service, which makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. One thing to note about the branch in the mall’s food court is that it has a more open, casual vibe compared to the other locations, so it doesn't quite feel like a traditional restaurant. However, despite this, everything else was great and up to the usual standard.
Overall, I highly recommend Salkara for anyone craving a tasty, value-for-money meal. The consistency in food quality across different branches truly...
