Shakes 'n' Cakes Spital — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Super blonde middle aged (30ish) woman that works there is so rude. Overcharged us, blames us for her miscommunication/language issue, then charged us more for her trouble. We asked for 2 cones with one scoop of banana and one of chocolate. She put them both in the same cone??? Then went mad at us and refused to fix her mistake so we had to dump one of the cones. If you want decent service to go the other one.

Hi. That’s not what happened she said “together?” And we thought she meant pay together. Despite the fact we said 2 waffle cones, she gave us one. I get you have to defend your staff but she is a very rude and standoffish woman. She’s lied to you and you’ve believed it. In fact me and multiple people have had issues with her attitude. The further fact that she refused to fix it it worse. Maybe you should put in some CCTV so you can see how badly your staff treat people. Weird because ALL the other staff members are so lovely. Waited over 20 minutes for a crepe and cookie dough. There was a large family sitting at the table directly opposite the ice cream chiller who asked one of the male servers (must be new and was wearing glasses) to clean their table. He returned with blu roll and disinfectant spray and proceeded to spray the table before the kids and adults could move their food. Spray clearly hit their food but he didn’t care.

All staff talking in a foreign language and laughing at their customers... unfortunately I also understand their language so knew exactly what derogatory comments were made.

When we left, we said goodbye to be polite.

The male server with the neck and arm tattoos decided to mock us as we left bye repeating “bye” in a high pitched voice. When I challenged him he simply said “what?”

Unfortunately the food was actually very pleasant... but the staff have ruined our first experience... won’t be back.

This isn’t the first time someone has complained about he staff... when are you going to deal with...

It apparently opens at midday, but that actually means the staff arrive at midday and they aren't ready to serve at that time. When we arrived just after midday, we were told it was a 15 mins wait. I had my 5 yo son with me so I gave him the choice of waiting or going somewhere else. He chose to wait. It felt like we were an inconvenience for choosing to wait. (My son did get in the way once while she was carrying a heavy load of ice cream, which I apologised for, but in fairness we were in the seating area and were not warned to move away.) At the time of writing we've been waiting 20 mins, no communication, no music or anything in the place, it feels like we're imposing and have barged in before opening.
