so upon arriving at the harvester lancing we we had a few drinks before our meal and the young lady at the bar was extremely helpful.
After being seated by a rude waitress we asked to have 5 more minutes to choose our food, she walked off with a yep! which we all thought nothing of other than she was having a bad day.
when she came back she offered us our bowls for the salad cart and left us again.
The salad cart was very sparse which is such a shame as one of the biggest highlights of visiting the harvester was for that.
when returning to my seat i noticed there wasn't any cutlery and i thought it was at the salad area and asked my partner if they had seen any up there and they said no?
On my way back to my table I took the cutlery pot back and said to my mum oh theres no cutlery so I have these from another table.
The woman came bounding over to us and raised her voice to say "If you asked me for cutlery I would have got you some!" then proceeded to talk over me when i was explaining i wasn't trying to cause issues i understand you are busy but you shouldn't talk to paying customers with that attitude. she kept trying to respond with an argument which was unfortunate.
I could see the place was busy and with such a frosty service I thought I didn't want to hassle her more. Her manager on shift stepped in and was hostile towards me until I had explained the situation and the other girl flounced off with an attitude.
I received a "yeah sorry she's got a lot on at the moment"......right because that's an excuse to be rude to paying customers?
We paid the full price without discount and no apology from the rude waitress so we left a rude note on a receipt, The customer isn't always right I understand but you are paid to be customer facing and if the harvester is employing people that lack basic people skills it shines though as how downhill the place is becoming.
The toilets in the womens toilets were extremely blocked with some one leaving their dirty knickers on the floor for everyone to see.
sticky tables, disappointing salads, no cutlery, rude service and a disappointing defensive message privately from the business owner.
what a joke...
Read moreall the times before today the burgers have been great especially the dirty bird burger. but today the burger was dry the breast was a lot smaller than usual it wasn't juicy it was completely dry and it was definitely missing some things on the burger if they were going to make the chicken breast smaller at least make the bun the same size it looked absolutely ridiculous and nothing like it normally did. the service was good I guess not the best service I've ever had the salad bar was atrocious literally nothing that people would want is good then chicken breast fillets looked like they were literally cut in two even though they used to use actual chicken fillets. The mixed grill was dry and the portions looked a lot smaller than usual they could've just upped the price and kept the food the same and I'm sure I would've been a lot happier. the atmosphere was also not great everyone around us was way too loud for my liking because most of the time the people keep to themselves and speak normally but everyone was literally shouting at each other I could hear everyone's conversations besides me even though they were literally sitting across from each other and didn't need to speak to each other that loud also someone's phone notification was extremely loud and very annoying as it was the start of the 'symphony' song was the notification and then their phone kept on ringing and they kept on ignoring it leaving it to keep on ringing and get louder and they didn't even put their phone on silent. we will not being going there ever again we are all very unhappy and even with a percentage off it was £54 which I find ridiculous and we all wish that we...
Read moreFirst I’d like to say the waitress serving us was lovely!
However, the food and menu was extremely disappointing. I booked the festive menu months in advance for this. We were booked in for 2pm so not like it was near the end of service for the day. despite this when we ordered our starters we were then informed the prawn cocktail was unavailable which 2/3 of us wanted, this was extremely disappointing. So 3 of us then ordered the tomato soup. A few minutes later the waitress came to tell us there was only 1 tomato soup left, so 2 of us then had to pick our 3rd choice for a starter. A few mins after this the waitress came to say that the last tomato Soup had actually gone as well so the 3rd person wanting the soup had to pick the 3rd choice starter too (they would have had the prawns if the soup had not been available). This is ridiculous when booking a festive menu, this shows a lack of good management of stock and on a special occasion, the manager/chef should have plenty of options available. We had to have chicken Goujons for starters and despite asking if we can choose a starter from The main menu instead we were told this was not possible - in these circumstances you should be trying to help the customer have a good experience, not force them to have food they didn’t want.
The food was mediocre and probably one of the worst roasts we’ve ever had.
All in all a very disappointing experience on Boxing Day, wont be recommending this restaurant especially on special occasions like Boxing Day as the management clearly aren’t capable of running this restaurant to a...
