The Stanley Ale House — Restaurant in Adur

Attended today as a person of colour. I asked for a sample of a beer I wanted to try before getting a pint. Was given a cute small glass and remarked how cute the glass was. Was told by the lady serving that she knew how many of the glasses she had which implied I was about to steal it. I earn toooo much to steal a small glass but thanks for letting me know you already profiled me. That alongside the weird looks from the clientele lets me know that, although I’m local, have money to spend, bring lots or people to this establishment when I am visited by friends that may or may not look like me, on my visit to your establishment, I’m profiled as a thief....

I have been presently suprised, by this lovely gem of a place, that is literally a short walk from home, and got such a lovely vibe with very well kept ales, and do good entertainment, tucked away up in the corner of a parade, makes such a nice evening out, i would solely recommend it, and now found it will certainly go back, can't believe its taken me so...

Went in with a friend after a walk for a rest and cold beer, having heard the beer was good. As I ordered the drinks my friend was accused of wanting to steal one of the tasting glasses and was stared at the whole time by two of the customers at the bar making us both feel very uncomfortable. We drank our drinks as quickly as we could and left....
