Arkwright's Real Ale Bar — Restaurant in Amber Valley

This is another small pub in Belper, though it may not technically qualify as a "micro pub", depending on one's definition. Truth be told, it doesn't hold a candle to either The Angels Micropub or The Belper Tap in terms of craft ale range or general atmosphere or competence of staff. Why IMHO does it not qualify as a micro? For starters, it offers Carling, the vilest of vile British lagers - no self-respecting micro would do that. If that sounds snobbish and elitist, so be it. ;) - Plus, the ale range is fairly limited and undistinguished in comparison. The atmosphere struck us as rather mundane and dull, too. We visited the place during a pub crawl of the small town, and there are so many other, better options that on a repeat visit I'd rather skip it. Interesting micro pub that's easily missed if you don't know about it.

Essentially one large room with ample seating and a undercover outside area to the side.

Beer range is decent with regularly changing cask, they're on Real Ale Finder so worth checking out what they have on before visiting.

Keg isn't overly great with Beavertown Gamma Ray and Neck Oil, neither of which are particularly exciting, but they are dependable.
