Wheatsheaf — Restaurant in Arun

My husband & I thought we would try the Wheatsheaf. Bad idea! Firstly the bar was swimming with spilt beer which was not obvious until your jumper soaked it up.

We both had Sirloin, my sirloin was inedible and riddled with sinew, The sliced mushrooms were raw and the chips were cold on both skillets. Oh and the Coopers select (Red) is rubbish but could double as paint stripper.

UPDATE The general manager has responded with lies on here, so I thought I would respond further and post on TripAdvisor also.

I DID NOT throw food over the floor. What I did was pick up a raw mushroom off the skillet to show him it was not cooked.

I chucked it back on the skillet and because it hadn't been cooked it was like rubber and bounced off onto the floor.

At least I was truthful in my review, you were not in your response. Thank you for barring us from your horrible pub, I cant believe in your wildest imagination that we would ever want to come back there...

Thank you for restoring our faith in at least one sizzling pub. A very nice experience where we were served by caring, friendly staff. Our meals arrived promptly, of good quality for my sons repeat 21st birthdays after a disaster meal at the Southdown Sizzling pub two weeks ago. I just wanted to show you the quality meals that THIS Sizzling pub serve in comparison with the same meal at the southdown a mile or so away. These people went out of their way to get things right for us and we thank you for a really nice experience. Tables were clean, our table was ready for us in a nice area of the pub. All round 100% better than the southdown. Look below at the lovely meal at the Wheatsheaf compared to what the shriveled up offering from the Southdown. This, believe it or not, is the same meal at a different pub. Thanks again to the staff for an enjoyable evening...

The service here was completely appalling, when we told the chef what we wanted he constantly responded with a disgustingly rude sigh, if you dont like cooking for people then don't be a chef. Food was cheaply made but was completely overpriced, usually pub food is somewhat decent but most of the food I could make at home for way cheaper and it would taste better, not to mention we had ordered our deserts in advance with them being the ice cream Sundays but they had only chocolate ice cream which we did not like, asked for a refund but we did not get one. It's your job to serve the customers to their standards but most of the staff just stood around when the restaurant was packed. If I ever do come here agian and it's good I would consider removing my review but for now this place sucks and was...
