Bottega Montalbano Cafe & Ice Cream Parlour — Restaurant in Ashford

3 years ago I left this Italian cafe a 5 star review and thought that it was time to update it. This is still one of the best places to eat in Tenterden together with their sister restaurant Montalbano. The staff are absolutely amazing, so attentive and helpful. Sissy has blossomed since taking charge of the cafe and is extraordinary in her ability to make everyone feel welcome and special and manages the staff impeccably.

Dropped into Bottega Montalbano Gelato for a quick coffee whilst I was waiting for my car to be washed at Waves car Wash near Tesco's superstore. Service was very quick and the proprietor was a lovely guy, every surface was wiped down thoroughly after each customer left. I didn't have anything to eat, however, my mother who was with me said how nice the food is. A hidden gem with a truly authentic Italian feel. We had 4 espressos and 3 slices of cheesecake, everything was absolutely delicious. The espresso was strong and rich, just like in Italy, and the cheesecake was creamy and full of flavor.

We paid £24 in total, which felt very fair for the quality and atmosphere.
