Burger Boys — Restaurant in Ashford

Unfortunately BB haven't got back to me when I messaged privately regarding our visit and experience. We arrived on a Saturday for their seemingly good value lunchtime deal. All social media posts state from 12pm. We arrived 1215 to an empty locked up restaurant. Called mobile number on Fb page just after 1230, to be told some quite clear lies about servicing equipment (there was no one inside and could clearly see through to the back), and that the chef was 'at the co op getting a drink'. 15m later, chef arrives dropped off in a car, disheveled, restaurant is dirty from the night before. It's 30deg outside, the restaurant has not been prepped for service, we wanted a milkshake but all the glasses were stacked up dirty from the night before, food on the floor etc. Not appealing. Drinks didn't come until food came (literally cans out the fridge - give them when customer orders at the till?!) (And - one solitary coke left for the days service. Maybe could have grabbed a couple 'at the co op'). Burgers are certainly not homemade and slathered in ketchup. All in all, a big shame as we're local and would have liked to support. I wasn't too sure about this place to start with as I had never seen anyone in it or heard of anyone that had been there. However, my wife and I decided to take our child there and I was pleasantly surprised. We both had burgers with chips and a drink as a meal deal. The Burgers were fantastic. They both had fresh salad in them, the chips were delicious and had just been cooked. The atmosphere was OK but it was empty and the background music was so low you could here the traffic outside (we had a window seat). The food was so nice that I decided to take a lamb donner kebab home. It didn't disappoint. The price for the burgers were about right but I found the kebab price a bit much for what you got. Maybe a couple of quid cheaper and I'll go back for one. That aside, I will go back as the burgers were great. We decided to try Burger Boys as a family treat - we ordered an Into The Blue burger and 3 nuggets and chips as well as few side bits. The nuggets and chips were great the kids were happy and it was hot. The burger was presented beautifully and looked lovely - oh how wrong! The bun ruined the entire thing it was rock solid as if been sat in the sun all day. When I phoned to tell them about the burger they offered to give me a fresh burger but only if I collected it - firstly I wasn’t going out anymore tonight hence the delivery and secondly I don’t accept more food from somewhere I’ve complain to (I don’t trust them not to spit in my food).
