My wife and I came here a couple of days ago because she saw all the reviews on trip advisor. Don’t expect something this good in what seems like suburbia. Anyway the light lunch options are very tasty, had the cold chicken with cold Italian pasta salad and it was very yummy and cheap at £6. However it’s the cake I guess people come here for and that didn’t disappoint. Peach Melba was fantastic, pink lemonade cake a bit sweet for me and knew I should’ve had the layered lemon cake. And the Assam tea was just delightful and wife’s coffee was excellent for cafetiere and she got her liquid pouring cream on the side. Definitely you should go but be beware of parking. Either on the main road where the cafe is and mount the kerb and hope trucks vans going past miss you or else park in a side street and walk 200 metres.

We have wanted to try this since my brother took my mum a few months back. We weren't disappointed. I had a fantastic Ploughman's toasted sandwich-lovely bread and plenty of filings, my husband had a Beef bourguignon-which he said was really tasty (but he could have done with some more bread) and my mum had a cream tea-which she said was just as lovely as the first time. The coffee was good but could have been a little bit stronger-we probably should have chosen a different coffee. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the place is light, clean and airy. It was prettily decorated for autumn. We managed to park on the road. Some people had mentioned the road is very busy but we didn't have to park too far away at all. I think we will be back.

Came here on a Saturday and we're lucky to get a free table. Tried the BEEF BOURGUIGNON - very nice and warming food on a cold winter day. The halloumi and honey toastie was also nice. Highly recommend the Elderflower & apple juice and their French press coffees. The savoury cream tea comes with small scones with a selection of cheese was nice but note it does not include a hot drink which you order separately They also do a nice selection of hot chocolate melts from 40% Venezuela cocoa.

We used to visit this tearoom on a very regular basis, but due to difficult family circumstances, this was our first opportunity to return in 9 months. We were welcomed with open arms by the owner (Karen) and by the waitresses (Yvonne, Pip and Maisie), who all said how much they'd missed us, and how lovely it was to see us again. Pip and Yvonne both remembered our usual order (particularly impressive, as I have a restricted diet and have to slightly alter a dish on the menu). The food is top-quality, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. In these days where the impersonal machine is king, it is lovely to visit an establishment where you receive top-notch personal service, and where you are made to feel like a friend rather than merely a customer. I truly cannot recommend Williams & Thomas highly enough - it is the best...
