Read the reviews and chose this place instead of others and was very disappointed. The restaurant had multiple 2 seater tables available but we were sat in between a 8 bloke table all drinking and shouting and a table with a kid banging on a glass for 25 minutes. I understand people will be loud and kids also can be loud but it was ridiculous we were not seated further away.
I ordered the Chicken Nepal and my girlfriend the Chicken Korma. It was a long 45 minute wait to receive our meals, although there was a couple of big tables in it shouldn't be an excuse. Both meals had chicken. And this chicken was rock solid, tough, and flavourless. It tasted like it had been boiled it was that bland and rubbery. Usually a curryhouse chicken is tasty and great quality but this really had nothing going for it. My chicken nepal had a slight sweetness to it from the mango but other than that was rather flavourless and lacked any richness and flavour. The korma also lacked any flavour. So very disappointing considering it was £12.95 for the curry I believe and £3.50 for the rice thats £16.50 for a curry, which is above the average price, and was very poor. Also ordered the masala fries which had a nice flavour but were undercooked, oily, and hard.
The owner came over to check on us and I did tell the truth and explain that we were not enjoying the meal and that the chicken was not good at all. When we went to pay he did take one of our curry off the bill and was very apologetic and that it wouldn't be like that if we came back and he would tell the chef. Not sure if it was a one off or they had ran out of the usual chicken / chicken marinade but it was a...
Read moreWe've not been here in along time,We had a very enjoyable meal the usual poppadoms I have to have a mild curry as allergy's so choose a chicken korma perfectly cooked and nice and hot(temperature ! ) ,my husband had the lamb Rogan little too hot for me but the meat was lovely and tender, garlic naan had to say was lovely again perfectly cooked would have been 5* but we didn't really enjoy the pickles that come with the papadoms mango chutney was nice not enough of the onion salad bits and I don't enjoy the hot pickles the waiter did tell us afterwards we could always ask for more of which we liked we wasn't aware of this. Have to say this is a lovely restaurant lovely atmosphere waiters were good and don't keep pestering you, our only hate is the surcharge added to the bill as we prefer to tip as appropriate, wasn't a problem the waiter removed this from the bill, we had a very good meal was absolutely delicious would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be returning in the...
Read moreWe recently moved to Ashford and were constantly looking for genuine Indian restaurant, and we can say that Everest Inn have got us as their customers for life.
Truly authentic Indian food at its best!
For me, just not the taste of the food that matters but ambience, service quality, other menu items and waiting period from order time also matters equally. And they were superb in each of them.
We ordered Paneer Tikka curry, Dhansak veg, mushroom rice, couple of cheese and garlic naan & couple of just garlic naan bread for three of us, all of them were served in a quick time, and all were very tasty. Though they were short of some mocktails but we finally got virgin mojito (non alcoholic), and my teens liked that too.
Overall very good experience, and anyone who is looking for some genuine Indian restaurants, they must visit Everest...
