Very poor customer service skills I booked for 3 adults and 6 children the money got taken from my account my bank accepted it but no booking confirmation they said they hadn’t received my booking payments which I rang my bank my bank said it was taken from there end and gave me an Authorisation code to give to Hollywood bowl but they wouldn’t take this code from me to receive the payments and tried getting me to rebook with another payment I told them I haven’t got the funds to make another payment and to take authorisation code they said they can’t do it like that I asked to speak to the manager they said they get the manager for me then they come back to the phone no manager just an email for the manager and told me it could take 72hours till I get a response from them and that they have spoken to them themselves so if they spoken to them they could quite easily pass then on to me which they wasn’t willing to do I booked this for my daughter’s birthday my daughter has a serious health condition which means she has a lower life expectancy of a normal child and I’m gutted that I’m now going to have to cancel plans with her friends and let her down all because Hollywood bowl was being difficult I’ve now got to wait 8 days for my money to come back into my account which dosent help me cause the plans was made for her birthday this Monday which is now 2 days away they are an absolute joke if ur going to book with them don’t do it online because their page will crash after payments been made and u won’t get the booking I’m so disappointed and the staff will only talk down to u or talk to u like ur stupid which leads u to then become even more frustrated with the situation! Firstly I want to say a big thank you to James the manager on duty Sunday the 1st of August for delivering an exceptional service and tackling the issue to the best of his ability.
Went to Hollywood Bowl at 1pm with a few mates (group of 5) to play a couple bowling games and enjoy the Sunday. When we went to the desk to book the lanes, we were told everything was fully booked despite visibly seeing free lanes, and there would not be an opening until 6:20pm. Reluctantly, we booked 2 games for 6:20pm at the desk and decided to make up the time by playing in the arcade and go to a pub.
Once it was 6pm, we returned to Hollywood Bowl to find out that apparently they could not find the booking despite having a receipt as proof and that we would have to wait another hour with a low probability of getting a lane or until 10pm where there were plenty of free lanes. The issue was that apparently the booking had been done between 5:10pm and 7:10pm and not 6:20pm, and none of us (5 people) was ever told or heard such thing, and we were told they had written the name on the booking completely wrong.
Eventually we asked for a refund for the bowling games booked since the situation got to a ridiculous point. In regards to the refund process, the company policy dictates they are not allowed to physically process refunds at the desk and this had to be done online in a computer in the staff room which seemed a bit off, and this would take 7 days to show on the bank statement.

Read moreBooked a xmas party package for 10 kids and 12 adults started of ok. Had booked for 6.30pm all arrived early. Filled in form for food kids on one sheet adults on another page. Were told it would probably be best if we had one game of bowling then food the 2nd game as kitchen closed at 8pm. Didn't get any nachos so ask about them was told they were only included in adult party. But on website just says there included in all parties. Eventually got 2 plate of nachos put on lanes with kids and adults none on adults lane ask if we could have another plate full or atleast another plate so we could share them out. Got santa hats on table after asking for them no balloon! When food came out complete messed-up. Adults meals had been cook as kids meals kids got adult meal hot dog covered in mustard. Adults got tiny burger in box with a few chips a childs meal ! Was told they had mixed up orders and they would sort out and bring out some more burgers for adults . Never got any more brought out by this time they were cold ! Manager came over eventually sort of apologised. 2 parents didn't have any food as didnt real want a cold childs meal ! They said they would give us some money but £89 we had paid over £500! Havnt received on card yet ! Completely ruined the whole evening and caused a lot of unnecessary stress.
