Awful experience today 30/04/25- Ash very rude to customers and her poor colleague Darren. Drinks chucked on the side to work out what’s what… when Darren asked her she sternly and with raised eyebrows told us. She forgot one of our drinks - everything seemed an effort. Poor Darren was doing well to keep up - his colleague Ash was making it unpleasant for him and the customers. Where has service with a smile gone to and being kind to your colleague. ? Ash “chucked” the wrong drink on the counter for another customer and when he went back in to tell her she took no accountability and declined to change it to what he had asked and paid for! Rose was busy counting stock at rush hour and scrubbed her name off google review form - clearly did not want to be mixed up with miserable Ash. Surely stock count could take place out of rush hour time. What a sad way to start the day. I always review for warranted and good service - why not appreciate others. Whilst waiting for a connecting train to Wye at Ashford at 1830 Saturday 1.3.25 my wife and I went to get a hot chocolate and a flat white coffee. We met Darren & Caz who were working in the cafe. He was a character and very interactive with us and other customers. He knows his products well and I heard him describing the sweetness of a chocolate bar to an elderly lady enquiring. Whilst there as an off duty police officer I noticed a bag left under a stool in the cafe. Darren quickly gave instructions what to do not knowing my occupation. I identified myself and dealt with the bag which was a camcorder in a sealed bag, by handing it to rail staff. I returned, spoke with Darren who was very grateful. The 2 hot drinks were very good and value for money. Darren and Caz were very busy with constant demand, and still able to provide a good service, with a vigilant eye for passenger...

This is generally a nice and convenient coffee shop, except from one member of staff - an old man who is always rude and grumpy to customers. I have been on the receiving end of his short temper, and have seen him being unprofessional to others. Today he took the biscuit: supposed to close at 6pm, I knocked at 5.55pm and he yelled “closed”. When I pointed out it wasn’t 6pm yet, he replied “still closed”. Asked for the manager’s phone number, and he just ignored me. So owner/manager - here you go: don’t let one staff member let you down. I for sure will be using the Costa located before the gates...
