Centrally located in Ashford this hotel is brilliant for an individual/group that are looking for a place to stay and the hotel is also kid friendly and very welcoming.
Close to main road but can't hear any traffic at all
The rooms themselves are pretty good other than the obvious thick dust that was collecting above the photo frames, tv cabinet and the skirting board. It didn’t bother us too much but if you do have an allergy or sensitivity to dust/dust mites it may be worth double checking that the room has been properly checked over.
Also if it's hot 18degrees+ the lobby for the lift to go downstairs can become overbearingly hot whilst waiting for the lift although there is Aircon&heating in the room there is no air con on the landing near the lifts.
Breakfast was brilliant and food choice and quality was uncomplainable.- cereal, cooked breakfast, toast, croissants, fruit, apple&orange juice It was help yourself from 6am until 9am. We requested a room with a crib/child cot so we’re upgraded but a crib/cot was never seen even after asking again later in the evening.
All in all I would stay here again and probably regularly, It is just a shame that certain details seem to be missed that takes this from a five star down to a four star review.
Staff are polite and courteous. Downstairs has a gym and toilets the lounge/reception area at the back (away from food&people) this was clean and often was cleaned almost straight after people had finished and left.
You will need to book parking in advance. We took the risk and got lucky but before check out they had no parking spaces available so if we decided we wanted an extra night we wouldn't of been able to park. Parking is £12.50 pay within 15minutes (at reception) otherwise you risk being fined.
This is in a convenient location. It's about 2minutes walk to Ashford international fast services to Dover/euro tunnel or a 5minute walk to the other side for trains to...
Read moreA warm and well organized welcome to our coach party. Our room on the first floor was lovely, larger than expected with a king sized bed, crisp white linen and plenty of pillows, a Smeg fridge was quite a suprise. There was also a neat upholstered corner sofa unit that could be made into a single bed Our tech was taken care of too with UBS charging points at bedside and under television The bath room or actually shower room was well equipped with lotions and potions, lots of white fluffy towels, a large double shower with waterfall shower and spray too. A pleasure to use. We were here for five nights and when I asked for more coat hangers they were quickly produced, proper wooden ones too! Our first evening meal served buffet style was delicious. A choice of soup or fresh salads, I chose lasagne to follow and then chocolate gateau with fresh fruit. A very relaxed set up especially for group trips. This quality of service continued throughout out stay. Our meals every day our stay have been 5*. A good choice each evening by a rather talented chef. Breakfast was buffet style with an excellent range of hot and cold fresh food . I chose the make it yourself waffles, which, with a little guidance from the lovely Alice, were hot and delicious The room had a wall mounted temperature control device, that worked the heating and air conditioning. I and others found the symbols quite confusing although I managed to set it in the end, instructions and symbol meanings would have been helpful here. The room door was a very heavy fire door and needed quite some push to open it, not so easy for some This hotel was excellent in every way, if I visit this area again it will be my first choice to stay in A big thank you to all the staff who made me feel welcomed and valued...
Read moreNice hotel and clean rooms and typical Hilton style rooms. Great breakfast and the rooms are very quiet. 5* review for that
Car parking is a joke and the first thing they said was parking was full and I should pre-booked. Staff instantly say "it says it on our website". (It doesn't say it in the mobile app)
So I was told I have 15 minutes parking to unload, or that will be a £100 fine.
Welcome to our hotel, valued Diamond Honours member. 0* review for that
Then again, the hotel carpark had a van with people sitting in there drinking beer and people just hanging around from the flats opposite, so it doesn't feel too safe for parking a hire car in. 0* review for that.
No "let me help you with alternate locations", from staff and a "tough luck" attitude, as though they are at the mercy of the third party company they chose to operate their carpark and it isn't their fault. They just point you at a list of parking locations as though you know Ashford like you live here and not a visitor.
You are then just on your own to find other parking, before you get a £100 fine for staying in the hotel carpark too long.. 0* review for staff attitude.
I love Hilton chains and have traveled around the world using them. This parking issue, using the same third party whose signage and methods are like a gun pointing at you, plus attitude of staff seems to be a UK thing, which is a shame. There are two first impressions of a hotel that represent the brand. The arrival and the staff at the reception and both take a serious hit...
