Moretto’s — Restaurant in Ashford

This was our first visit here today and I'm very sorry to say it will be our last. On entering the premises I put our orde over the counterand paid straight away. We ate and drank then left. After we had gone a few yards along,one of the assistants came after us to see if we had paid. I explained yes by debit card when I placed or order,she agreed then appoliged. The 3 or 4 minutes later the owner came chasing into waitress while we were shopping, accusing us that we had not paid because it had not cleared it off the system. He embarrassed us in front of other customers and staff. We showed him our online bank account which showed him it was paid. No apology just going on about how much money he loses every week. I said we told the assistant that we had paid and she agreed that we had. To be approached once fair enough but to come after us a 2nd in as minutes I was devastated and embarrassed as most people were staring at us. No receipt was given. Still no apology only going that of lot people walk off with not paying. Avoid...

Stopped here with friends for some lunch. My husband and I are gluten free, my husband being celiac and I’m intolerant. We ordered gluten free sandwiches but when they came out there were crisps and salad dressing on the plate when I asked if they were gluten free, they weren’t sure. This is poor understanding of basic duty of care to their customers. Wouldn’t recommend if you have intolerance...
