What a delightful tea room! This must be one of the best cafes I've ever been to. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, and served quickly. There is plenty of seating inside and tables outside too. The beam and interior decorations are beautiful, and I love the fairy lights. I ordered a breakfast tea for one, and it was served in beautiful china cup, saucer, teapot, and little jug for the milk. The lady who served me gave me an extra teapot of hot water to top up the tea leaves teapot - it was so nice to be given this at the start and not have to ask! Very good value for money. I had my tea with soy milk, and they also offer oat milk as a dairy free alternative. I also bought a slice of gluten free lemon drizzle to take away, and it was AMAZING! Moist and packed with flavour, and I loved the lemon curd and icing on top. I saw that they have a separate fridge for gluten free food so felt reassured that they are careful in the preparation and storage of gluten free food. They had gluten free rocky road too, but all their cakes are homemade so on another day the choices might have been different. Nice to see different options to the token gluten free brownie that most cafes offer! Will definitely return to Long Melford in order to come back here again! Lovely staff, gorgeous interior and tea sets, and wonderful tea and cake. What's not to love? Thank you Long Melford Tea Room 😊❤️ Also - they have plenty of plug sockets for charging phones / laptops which was a relief for me since my phone battery was low. Not all cafes have wall plug sockets available, so it's worth noting!

Review 28th Sep. 2022 "Long Melford Tea Room" So we were wandering through Long Melford looking for somewhere to have lunch, when we came across the Long Melford Tea Room. When we saw the delightful toasted sandwich menu we found it difficult to chose. The food was excellent and the staff gave us friendly, efficient and fantastic service. The selection of teas on offer was great, we had Earl Grey with lemon. I had Pastrami, Emmenthal cheese, mustard mayo & gherkin toasted sandwich and my wife enjoyed a Ham and Mature Cheddar cheese toasted sandwich. Overall a wonderful visit to a Tea Room with fabulous atmosphere and I feel sure that we will return again. So glad we didn't settle just for coffee. Thank you so much to Terese. Review 26th June. 2024 "Long Melford Tea Room" So we just had to return Long Melford Tea Room again. We were not disappointed. When we saw the delightful cakes we found it difficult to choose. The cakes were excellent and the staff gave us friendly, efficient and fantastic service. The selection of teas on offer was great. We had a big pot of tea. Irene had ham and cheese toastie and I had brie and chutney, so yummy. I had a fabulous coffee cake. Overall, another wonderful visit to a Tea Room with a fabulous atmosphere, and I feel sure that we will return many more times. I'm so glad we didn't settle just for coffee. Thank you so much to Richard and Lisa.

A great tearoom that's well worth a visit. Serving a selection of cakes, scones, toasted sandwiches, teas, a cream tea and even afternoon tea (with booking) - a fellow visitor had the latter and it looked very generous. Service is also affable, warm and friendly. We were served loose-leaf tea in a pot for 2, with cups & saucers, accompanied by sugar cubes and a decent jug of milk. I had a cream tea - the fruit scone was warm, soft and quite delicious, accompanied with a good sized dollop of jam and clotted cream. My other half had a (big!) slice of coffee and walnut cake; this was as good an example of this sponge cake as I have ever seen. We would seek this place out again if we were in the area.
