I have stayed at The Fanny Talbot previously in the hotel rooms which are fantastic to say the least and the aircon is a massive plus. This review is for apartment 4 which accommodates 6 which we recently booked for 7 nights.|To get into the apartments you have a front door at the side of the main pub door but is closed off with a screen up the disabled ramp. You then enter the hallway and up a flight of stairs turn left for apartment 3 or fight for 4. As soon as you enter the apartment you enter a small hallway with a coat rack and shoe tray and the stairs to the first two bedrooms and shower room and directly in front of you is the open living and dining room and kitchen. The dining room has a solid corner cupboard which has the spray mop, long brush and high chair.||The dining table has a bench and three chairs which are of a high quality. The living room consists of two three seat sofas and a long velvet footstool tv cabinet and large smart tv.||The kitchen has a washer dryer which is great except the dryer takes a long time so I only put it on before going to sleep overnight. It has a full sized dishwasher plenty of cabinets, pots, pans, kettle, microwave, toaster, oven, electric hob, cafeteria and some complementary Welsh ground coffee which is a great touch. It also has cup, saucers plates, glassware and cutlery except that there was not enough of the bowls, plates cutlery, glassware probably due due to breakages but should really be checked as part of the cleaning afterwards maybe. The kitchen has a large integrated fridge freezer and Brita filter water jug.||On the 2nd floor you have the shower room with basin and wc and the first two bedrooms which consist of a double bed, wardrobe and bedside tables. Unfortunately there are no TV’s in these rooms. The third floor has the master bedroom and bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, two bedside tables, a vanity table, double wardrobe a chest of drawers and a tv unit with a large tv unit.||The master bathroom has a lovely deep oval bath, large shower cubicle, wash basin and wc. All of which is very clean and well presented.||What would improve the apartments would be installing AC like the rooms in the hotel, a vacuum cleaner the missing kitchenware and a book containing instructions for the appliances and local attractions.||The food is absolutely amazing at the Pub and i highly recommend you try it. It isn’t the cheapest by a long shot but you most definitely get what you pay for as the quality of the ingredients and presentation is truly spectacular. The chef was a finalist on Master Chef and i really cannot understand how he did not win.||We have to say the staff were amazing and very accommodating as we had an autistic child with us. I highly recommend staying here be it the hotel rooms or the apartments which are reasonable prices and certainly a high end finish and quality furnishings.||We will see you again on 2nd November and keep up the...

Read moreA big thank you to all the staff at The Fanny Talbot for such a wonderful evening.
We had been recommended The Fanny Talbot by Gary from the Bae Abermaw B&B to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we were absolutely blown away.
We dropped in for a drink in the afternoon and made our reservation with Sally, who kindly arranged our booking and helped us with parking too. My husband was delighted to see they had Tetley’s Bitter on tap, as it’s rare to find nowadays. We were served our drinks by Aaron, who also took care of us that evening.
When we arrived for dinner, we were shown to a lovely table and greeted with a glass of bubbly to celebrate our anniversary. The whole team went out of their way to make the evening feel truly special.
We opted for the three-course evening set menu, which was absolutely outstanding. Every single part was incredible, from the warm sourdough bread with local butters to the crisp cheese and chive balls.
The lobster starter was exceptional, with flavours that were exquisite and beautifully balanced. The duo of black beef was melt-in-the-mouth soft and rich, we couldn’t resist the triple-cooked chips on the side. It was so delicious. My husband chose the same, though we both struggled to decide because everything on the menu sounded amazing.
For dessert, I chose the chocolate pavé, which was smooth, deeply chocolatey, and the perfect end to the meal. Like every course, I didn’t want the experience to end.
A special thank you to Aaron, who really took care of our every need and made our anniversary extra special. To all the staff and to the head chef, we were so impressed by every detail. The food was simply beautiful, and the attentiveness and warmth of everyone there made it an unforgettable evening.
We can’t wait to come back and have already recommended it to family and friends as an...
