Good Menu Fresh clean look but lacking character (some artwork needed or soemthing?)
Coffee lacked a little finnese, was a little standard.
Fry up was okay. Sausages overcooked with dry tough skin and black pudding was dry but tasty. Hash was a nice hash and lovely and hot.
Girlfriend had pancakes which was meant to have Banana on it. Did not get informed until the plate was landing on the table that they had not got any Bananas and asked if okay. By that time, you've taken the choice away really instead of asking beforehand and allowing the option and comfort to be able to take the time to change our minds. There is a local shop 50 yards down the road that probably sold Bananas. The Bananas apparently would have made the dish with it just being a layer of dark caramel and blended peanut which created a dry pancake dish.
We also bought two takeaway Brownies. These were absolutely amazing. Gooey, chocolatey...
Read moreThought we'd give this place a go as our regular eatery is closed on a Monday. Its clean. It's tidy. It's modern looking. And the staff are attentive under the circumstances. Unfortunately we didn't like the breakfast. The sausages were hard like they'd been reheated in the microwave. The hash browns looked nice but we found them too stodgy. My egg still had clear jelly when i cut into it. And the toast was so pale. My friend and i wondered if they'd put factor 50 on the bread before they put it in the toaster. Ok it was busy being a bank holiday. But they should put more staff on in that case. From what we could see there were only 3 staff trying to do everything. 1 in the kitchen and the other 2 running around doing everything else. That's alot of food for 1 person to be cooking on their own. It's no wonder it came out...
Read moreQuite slow service for very basic cold sandwiches. The staff were pleasant and apologised for the wait. The white bread used for the sandwiches was not great quality. It was what I would consider a thin sliced own brand loaf. A better quality bread could have transformed a very soggy (too much Marie rose sauce) prawn sandwich into a far more appetising lunch. I don't like giving poor reviews but £30 for 3 basic sandwiches and 3 soft drinks would suggest a half decent piece of bread. I hope the owners look at this review and at the very least, use a better quality bread. You might lose a few pennies off your profit but you will have far happier customers who will recommend...
