China Lantern Chinese Restaurant and Takeaway — Restaurant in Barnsley

We went to the opening night of china lantern and its been our go to chinese since, unfortunately last night we ordered sweat and sour chicken Hong Kong style and it was absolutely inedible! It was just tiny pieces of batter with no chicken whatsoever! They even mixed crispy shredded chicken into it to try and make it up! You could tell with the difference in colour what they had done! If the restaurant had run out of chicken they should have said so instead of trying to pass that off! I don't know if the restaurant has changed hands or not but but ours went straight in the bin, a total waste of money and we wont be ordering again from here! Unfortunately they have lost a loyal...

We have ate in before. Great. However we chose home delivery as it worked out alot cheaper. 1st delivery was great. Today was our 2nd. Food arrived really quick. 10-15 mins after I ordered online. Was it sat ready or does it just cook really quick? We ordered sweet and sour chicken with chips and ordered extra sauce (because we barely got any with our first delivery) The sauce was so runny it ruined the meal a little. Me and my Partner came here for the first time and was well impressed. The food was gorgeous and everything piping hot. We had the crispy shredded chicken which was the best. A house special chow mein full of everything, chips anr a curry sauce. We had a starter for 2 but asked if we could have it just for one person and it was no trouble for them and said yes straight away. Lovely fast service and great atmosphere.
