Locky’s Bar — Restaurant in Barnsley

Me and my family have been in here today and been let down and we always come for dinners.

Today we walked in just after 1.30 and asked for 4 adult carvery and 2 children's carvery which took a while to come but that was not the issue kids was told to be seated in the most ignorant way by slamming a sign down at the side of me if the sign was up and able to be seen the kids would have been seated. But for us to be served food then the the band come on so we couldn't here the other people speak. We felt rushed and not wanted in the pub. If there was a band starting the food shouldn't be served as half the way through my three year olds dinner the light was switched off which tbf is absolutely disgusting £35 + for service like this is beyond the joke.

For the band member to be swearing over the microphone when children are there.

I'll be going elsewhere from now on.

A gem of a place for a carvery, fresh cooked choice of meats and numerous amounts of vegetables to sample. Never had a bad meal here and have been coming for a few years. Ideally you are better booking in advance for the Sunday carvery as it gets extremely busy and it avoids the disappointment if you turn up and there are no tables available. Once you get served at the bar you are required to wait to be shown to the table that has been allocated to you. All the staff are friendly and are very thorough in their job. The walls of the bar area are amassed with photos of the proprietor with past and present boxing legends and some of himself in his younger days. "Simply the Best" - I honestly cant fault this place. First time visiting for sunday carvery! the place was very busy as it as mothers day, but the staff were so friendly and couldnt do enough for us. We had a wheelchair user in our party and they helped so much by getting our disabled member their food and allowing us to get ours. Staff and management were so attentive.
