Coffee Thyme — Restaurant in Barnsley

Ordered 3 times each time didn't go well. o Order 1 I placed my order explained I was working from home due to Covid and ask if they could message me when my order was on its way so I could log off for my dinner break which they did, only to be still sat waiting 45mins later into my 1 hour dinner finally turned up but had 15mins to eat it so didn't really enjoy. Over 45 minutes for sandwiches is a bit ridiculous get order a hot takeaway and be here in less.

Ordered 2 Learning from my last mistake I didn't put myself on dinner break, over 1 hour later still nothing so i messaged them they read my message but no reply, next thing a knock at the door was my dinner and apologised because they forgot about me.

Ordered 3 This time thought id order for collection because could pick a time and isn't far from home, was advised to message them once I here which I did, 10 mins later still waiting outside then got a message saying am I coming to collect or not. When I was outside, with Covid I stood to one side out of peoples why but all time I was there I didn't see anyone check.

During covid I've tried to support local business more than normal but with this experience won't better back to Greggs.

After my troubles my friend called to order 2 bacon sandwiches which she walked out when seeing what the member of staff was doing, using her phone, handling money then touching food without washing her hands or putting gloves on which is bad enough in general but with covid even more disgusting.

Food was ok nothing special but nothing wrong either in my opinion food is over priced but like I said was trying to support a local business so I was willing to pay extra to do so but didn't get extra in return only...

Came today 29/04/24, was welcomed by a stressed woman, verbally mentioning that she ‘won’t be in tomorrow at this rate’ and has ‘had enough’ before actually storming out, shouting that ‘she needs 5 minutes’ baring in mind there was genuinely 3 tables in at this point and was not busy. She kept mentioning aloud how people keep all coming in and ordering food (at a cafe 🤣) her daughter was helping her, both were shouting at one another, it was the worst case of hospitality I’ve ever experienced. We were going to walk out, having paid and not received food but felt uncomfortable that the lady was would kick off if we did! My sister ordered a cappuccino with her food, which never arrived and we certainly didn’t want to hang around for it either. Food came, having watched staff finger all the cooked food, wipe their hands on their apron and serve, my sisters ‘tower chicken burger’ was a burger and lettuce, no mayo or anything else, the lady did end up coming over with a tub of mayo offering this off the spoon.

a very miserable place. the food is cooked in very dirty conditions. the staff is dressed dirty and smells of sweat. your order is never taken normally. the place is very dirty, unhygienic. a rigorous control should be done at this place. it is also very expensive, I ordered a coffee and I was shocked by the horrible taste of the onion.
