Ordered creamy garlic mushroom starter, which wasn't bad however there was no garlic in it at all, so it was basically creamy mushrooms. Ordered hunters chicken main which again wasn't bad but wasn't the best. Ordered a peppercorn sauce to go with my chips which does state on the menu that all sauces have mushrooms, which is fine. But what i didn't expect is pieces of red pepper in the peppercorn sauce, this wasn't stated on the menu. Anytime I've ordered peppercorn sauce it comes plain creamy sauce with just the peppercorn. They have tried to make it more fancy but ultimately destroyed it, didn't even taste like peppercorn either. Also tried the Diane sauce which tasted vinegary. A family member ordered a medium-well steak and it came out really well done when they mentioned it they was told they had took the wrong steak which wasn't the case. Either way nothing was done to rectify this and my family member couldn't eat the steak. The majority of the food was left and At the end of the night 2 of my family members had been sick, with me and my partner having an upset stomach and feeling like we were going to throw up. A random choice as we were in the area and tried on the off chance. On arrival the carpark was busy but there was still spaces available, we were greeted warmly by the member of staff behind the bar. We had time to peruse the menu and didn't feel rushed. Ordered the fish and chips, chicken gyros and a portion of onion rings. I then amended my order to take off feta, this was done without issue. There was a short wait for food (20ish mins) however we were absolutely fine with this wait as the pub was busy.

The food arrived and the portions were very generous and plentiful. The food items were hot and exceeded our expectations in all ways. We struggled to finish our mains.

We will definitely be back. Overall our food spend was £36.85. Excellent value for money, especially for the quality...

Extremely solicitous service here. The customers are well known which speaks volumes about the fact many obviously come frequently. Service was over and above what you would expect normally from a good place, without being intrusive. The food for most if us was a good quality and appropriate portions. Unfortunately my bream was a little tired and dried out but the sauce that came with it helped a bit. The vegetables were done to perfection. It left me with mixed feelings at the end which was a shame when the most things were excellent. I would go again but might ask some searching questions...
