Fantastic place for a meal. I went with my family, we had roast dinner and it was fabulous. They cater very well for Gluten Free options, including Yorkshire puddings and gravy, which most places do not do. We called and spoke to Jay, the day before we went to check how they support Coeliac requirements, and he couldn't do enough for us. He promised us that we were in for a treat and we were very impressed. Lovely building, friendly, helpful staff, awesome food. Mostly on ground level, with a mezzanine level with more seating for another few tables up some stairs. Car park right out back, wide, accessible entrance, dog water bowl at entrance and dogs are allowed inside. The first photo and video clip, is the non GF plate. The only difference was that instead of 1 huge Yorkshire Pud, my son got 4 smaller GF ones. See pic, the meat is piled up under the Yorkshire Pud, we also had a large dish of Cauliflower and Broccoli cheese on the table, for us to help ourselves, though unfirtunately the cherse sauce was not Gluten Free but they did offer too bring more plain cauliflower and brocolli. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the Penistone area.

**5-Star Review for The New Inn at Penistone** We cannot express our gratitude enough to Jo and the team at The New Inn in Penistone! We found ourselves in a stressful situation just 10 weeks before our wedding when we discovered that our original venue had double-booked us. In a panic, we reached out to Jo, and to our immense relief, she confirmed that The New Inn was available on the night of our wedding. Although we had already booked the register office for our ceremony, Jo went above and beyond to tailor a package for our wedding reception that perfectly suited our needs. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, creating the perfect atmosphere for our special day. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that everything ran smoothly, and the food was simply amazing. Jo and the entire New Inn team truly saved our wedding day and turned what could have been a disaster into an unforgettable celebration. We can't thank them enough for everything they’ve done. If you're looking for a stunning venue with exceptional service, we highly recommend The New Inn!

Went for a family meal this evening and it was the first time I've been since it has changed hands and re opened. The staff are lovely incredibly friendly and the lady whom I assume was the manageress was incredibly personable and even gave us a heads up it had started to rain as we were leaving. The food was good with generous portions. It is a tiny bit less fancy then the when it was the White Hart but better value and less faffing around then you used to have to do with the separate bowls. It is however no less tasty and on Sunday a three course meal for £20 is good value. We only went for 2 course and I honestly don't think I could of managed a third. Beer is a little pricey but not obscene. The pub appears to be dog friendly which is always nice and it's these little things that make a more welcoming atmosphere. I will be going back. If I were to be critical of anything I don't like sauces in little sachets but that is a personal thing and has no bearing on the venue. Worth 5 stars for value and portion size and staff

Came for mother's day after a wonderful experience last year. Unfortunately this year was the polar opposite. We arrived for our booking to find that our table was still occupied. After a wait, we were directed to another table. We then waited 1hr 20 mins for our food orders (similar to others who we're getting equally as concerned). Noone came to give us any updates. I asked for an update X2 but this didn't come despite the staff going to chase it. On the third ask we were told 10 minutes and offered a round of free drinks. The food was 20 mins after this in arriving. The food itself was amazing. When my husband went to order drinks he queued for the the overwhelmed barmaid and after 15 minutes of waiting she went to someone who had pushed in first over him! Once we finished our meals we prompted for our pre-ordered child's dessert of 2 scoops of ice-cream. After 30 minutes this had still not arrived. So we had to ask and point out at this point it was passed our sons bedtime! It's finally arrived at 7pm....after we arrived for our table of 16.30! The venue seems to have pushed itself a bit too much on what it could achieve and although the food was amazing, the customer service was lacking. We shouldn't have had to chase for updates and wait times should have been made clear once we were seated. Our table was clearly a 2 person table and they squeezed 3 on ... And I had to clear empty glasses myself so we had room to fit all 3 meal plates on once it arrived. The free drink was appreciated, but we shouldn't have had to raise a complaint to be offered it and no complaints would have been necessary if expectations on wait times has been set. For a sitting at 16.30 where the table was until 18.00 is 18.00 for the first order coming out acceptable? And is 19.00 acceptable from the point of 18.30 for a then over tired child to have to wait for 2 scoops of ice-cream?? Disappointing. Perhaps next year consider set meal times and taking pre-orders. However we won't be a customer next year..there are better organised and more reliable mothers day experiences in the...

We’ve been to the New Inn several times in the past and always had a great meal. We went on Sunday 17th March 2024 expecting the same quality… we were very disappointed as when the food came out it was cold, not just Luke warm at that. The middle of the mash felt like it had come straight out of the fridge!! The plates were cold! We sent all three meals back expecting them to be warmed up in the microwave, they came back on warm plates but the food was still cold in the middle, again we sent them back and asked for fresh meals and for them not to be reheated again. We also order the spring veg, this came out looking dried up too! At this point I would have expected the manager to have been informed and for him to come over to our table to have a chat with us. - NOTHING!! Complete lack of customer service!! We ate some of the food as we were hungry and had waited an extended period of time for something edible to come out of the kitchen. We waited more than 20 mins after pushing our plates to the side, for them to be cleared away, again no one came near and there wasn’t a check back at any point from the waitress during our meal!! Other tables were being cleared but it felt like we were being ignored due to the situation. Overall, it was £50+ wasted. If the food was done by a Chef, I’d like to know where they got their qualifications from and if was a cook they need removing from the kitchen before anyone gets food poisoning! My advice- don’t waste your money or time at the New Inn, Penistone, go anywhere else! Very Poor quality of meal, non existent...

We went today. 6/10/22 having booked in for My husband’s sons 16th birthday. It wasn’t our first time going and had enjoyed previous visits. My husband likes the Burger meal with pulled pork, loaded chips & chicken strips etc but it’s enough for 2 as it’s huge so him & his son were sharing it (& we were all going to have puddings after) I had lasagna. We Couldn’t fault the food at all, home made & beautifully cooked. The service however was not great. The blonde waitress barely spoke, when we asked for items she actually rolled her eyes at us. No please no thank you, there were only another 4 diners in at the time (all actually commenting on how lovely the food was which was hardly acknowledged each time) The place was virtually empty yet no one checked in on us at all or asked if everything was ok with the meal etc we felt we were an inconvenience on what should of been a happy meal, there was no conversation or real acknowledgement the whole time she was dealing with us and we noticed how she was the same with the few other customers. Fabulous food but sadly lacking this evening in customer care so we left without ordering more drinks & desserts as we didn’t want to inconvenience her further which was a shame, everyone has their off days but a smile and the odd bit of conversation...
