Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Basildon

Visited the pipps hill branch today and the girl who was opening the doors was very hyper and seemed nice. Although there wasn’t much of a queue she was rushing us and asked what my husband was ordering and we replied cappuccino. She immediately went and told the girls to make a cappuccino, without even giving us a chance to say how we wanted it. 30 seconds later we went to pay and We said We wanted the a almond milk cappuccino which the lady at the till had a no problem to get it changed, but the girl who gave our order ran to the other girl making it and said good job you didn’t make it and giving me and my husband the eye... how unprofessional!! I actually said thank you leaving and she didn’t say anything back and was still giving the dirty looks. Why are you rushing people when there is no one waiting and 2.if you’re going to take orders while people are in line make sure you ask how they want it, instead of assuming and rushing to give incomplete orders which was YOUR mistake. I visited this branch on Sunday with my wife and two children. They spent nearly £20 there and I bought myself a burger meal ftom across the road. They finished their drinks and food before me and a waiter came over to ask me whether I had purchased anything from Costa. I pointed out to him our purchase receipt & the empty cups and plates still on our table and then he reprimanded me for having competitor's food inside Costa. There were many messy tables with cups,saucers and plates waiting to be cleared. And yet the guy was more interested in causing more altercation. There was no notice on the door to say that you could not consume other competitor's purchase. I have no problem with Burger King & Macdonald when all members of the family are having different choices and sit in one restaurant at times. I will not return to this restaurant again. Coffee fine as you would expect, but busy and noisy. The main issue for me is customer service. I went in there this morning and stood at the counter waiting to be served for 10 MINUTES! I wasn't worried about the wait as staff WERE all busy, but despite looking in my direction several times during my wait, the staff totally ignored me. A "We're so sorry to keep you waiting. We'll get to you as soon as we can!" from them wouldn't have gone amiss. But nothing. When I WAS eventually served there was no mention of my wait and the lady was a little abrupt with no smile. Even then I waited a further 6 minutes ago for my coffee to be made as the girl on the machine seemed more interested in tidying up one of the cupboards.
