We were rather disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. Upon arrival, we were immediately informed that several dishes were no longer available, which was not a great first impression. I ordered the French Macaron-tini mocktail, which tasted nice, but it was gone in just three or four sips. At £9.95, it felt overpriced for such a small glass. For starters, we shared some nibbles: garlic bread, olives, and calamari. These were genuinely delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, all four of us were let down by the main courses. I ordered the Duck à l’Orange, which was very plain, and the orange element felt like it was simply thrown onto the plate. The Tarte Tatin à la Provençale was a surprisingly small portion and underwhelming. Two people in our group had the Côte Burger, which was cooked far too long. The patties were completely dried out. It’s a shame, especially considering the price point. Overall, not worth the money. I wouldn't choose to return.

We went for an anniversary lunch and had a trainee waitress, who tried hard and did a strong job looking after us. To start we both had French Onion soup, which was very cheesy, plenty of croutons and hot which was perfect for the cold day. Mains were salmon and ratatouille which whilst nice, could have used a few more vegetables. My other half had the tartiflette, which was truly delicious and was divine with the bread on the table dipped in it. For dessert, my other half had hazelnut praline crepes, but it only tasted like it was crepes with Nutella. Bit of a shame, as I think something more impressive could be made. I had tarte tatin which was nice but, the pastry base was a little on the soft side. My experience of eating them in France was they're slightly more robust, so I wonder if perhaps if the pastry was ever so slightly under-baked. We also each had a French Old Fashioned, which was also enjoyable. On the whole, we enjoyed our meal and will be returning.

It was my birthday and from start to finish the team were so attentive and lovely. Margarita was fantastic, she kept saying happy birthday throughout our time there and she got me a birthday card, sang to me, poured me wine and even got a candle added onto my dessert with a cocoa dusted "Happy Birthday". She really went the extra mile and she did it all with a smile. She is so lovely and all the staff there were very attentive. The food was incredible, everything was perfect. I recommend the camembert, moules (upgrade to rosemary fries) and creme brulee! I'm now 33 and that was my NUMBER ONE favourite lunch of all my birthdays! Thank you for making it feel so special. I always recommend Cote to everyone, it's my favourite. I was so happy! Even had a free glass of bubbles. <3 perfection! Thank you Cote Team! xxx

Saturday was our first time eating at this establishment. It was late morning and thought we would treat ourselves for a brunch for me my partner and our 8 month old daughter. We walked in and after a few minutes were greeted and shown to a table. Drink orders and food orders were taken within a reasonable amount of time but not to quick. We then had to wait nearly 30 mins for our drinks to be bought out ( just a coke and an orange juice) then another 30 mins for our eggs Benedict to arrive. When it arrived it looked pretty sad on the plate just two eggs dumped on top of two over done burnt buns. No Greenery no nice presentation. Extremely disappointed after waiting an hour. upon cutting in to the eggs they were extremely underdone with the whites of the eggs under cooked and just a sloppy mess. Most of the eggs had to be scraped to the side as I’m not happy to eat raw egg whites. The waitress did come round and ask if we wanted a replacement but we had already waiting an hour for that and could not wait any longer. We said we will just have the bill please. We were presented with the bill , the waiter came over to take it we handed him The cash and he said no we cannot pay with cash. Of this we should have been made aware when entering the restaurant and if this was the case we wouldn’t have proceeded to it here where honestly would have been the better option. He said he was going to get the manager . When we spoke to the manager she just waved us off and offered no change . We would not eat here ever again. This place portrays its is quite a posh nice eatery the food and service does not match up to this...

Beware!!!! On Tuesday February 10th 7.30 pm.Myself and a friend entered this restaurant and was led to a table. My friend caught her tights on a screw on the chair which then laddered. The manager defended his chair saying there was nothing wrong with it.This was the start of the horrendous experience.Once our starters arrived my friend noticed a hair in her liver pate. This was pointed out to the same manager who then actually put his fingers in the food and picked out the hair. Then started to shout "this is not my hair, this is not my hair"He then started to shout my friend was trouble since entering the restaurant.Obviously other restaurant goers were now watching this scene. When it was pointed out to the manager that his attitude was on the point of offensive.he then actually asked us to leave.I noticed people looking at him shacking their heads.I have lived in many contries around the world often eat out and can honestly say have never been subjected to such a rude and offensive manner.I would also like to point out that my friend is Asian.I also believe if she was not Asian this situation would not of arisen.I will be taking this further. To sum it up a completely horrific, embarrassing experience.I would never set foot in this place again.I would also like to add it was only the managers rude and racist behaviour, not any other...

So glad that Cote Brasserie has finally come to Basingstoke. Went for lunch yesterday - 27th March, with my daughter and son in Cote Brasserie and we left absolutely satisfied in every sense of the word.

On arrival, we were quickly greeted, seated and presented with a set and main menu. While choosing from the menu, the waitress took our drinks order and followed up with taking our food order. We waited a short while, approximately 10 minutes before our starters came out. The main was presented about 10minutes after the starter settings were cleared. Each time the waitress asking if everything was ok, and whether we wanted more drinks. Water was also left on our table. We were offered the dessert menu after the mains were cleared, but by this time I was sufficiently full, my children on the other hand, managed to squeeze a little bit more in.

In general we had a brilliant dining experience with Cote Brasserie. From the greeting at the door, the excellent food choice, the tantalising tastes of the food, and exceptional front of house customer service, are all recipes for me recommending this restaurant and returning again myself to try out the rest of their delicious menu.

Thank you to all - front and back of house, for a...
