Dee Dee's Family Cafe — Restaurant in Basingstoke and Deane

Nothing was available on the menu. Was told the coleslaw “looked iffy” so had beans and cheese on jacket potato. But the beans were stone cold, clearly she’d forgotten to turn microwave on. The grated cheese was mouldy. We asked for alternatives but nothing on the menu was available except toasties. Ordered that because we were assured it was different cheese. Then we were told they had no bread. Honestly, it’s laughable; except for the fact that we were starving and had a toddler to feed. The cafe is next to the shop's bread section, I mean, just grab a couple of loaves and charge it to the cafe later! We also asked for a refund on the hot chocolates because they were lukewarm and didn’t have enough cocoa powder. The girl serving us had no professionalism, saying “the manager hasn’t been around to sort the stock out”. I mean, she was pleasant enough but totally lacked the customer service and food preparation skills required in a role like that. Training, experience and a bit of savvy is...

Ordered a coffee frappe and a fudge brownie frappe. It came with no ice in either. When we questioned this we was told "that is what a frappe is" on top of this the fudge brownie frappe didnt have any brownie in it and might as well have been a nesquick chocolate milk, the carrot cake might as well have been a sultanas cake. Didnt taste anything like a carrott cake at all. And the tuna panini was a baguette with tuna in it. And even though they are costa they didnt accept the costa coffee card. A bad experience all round. I'm being generous by giving it 1 star. Won't go there again....

Blunt service from "chef" can't be bothered attitude, heard him say to till staff let's get rid of these customers, offered to cook food from the freezer and charge an extra £3 than the price in the freezer, was charged £4 for a soggy ham and cheese warm bread toastie, than heard the "chef" say I'm goin home now, so clearly just couldn't be bothered to cook, will definitely not be...
