First stop on our whirl wind tour of downtown Belfast pubs. We were starving and the fish and chips were on special. We were not disappointed and the service was pretty good. As an Irish American I had to get a Guinness in the old country to measure the differences of the US to Iteland versions. The Irish version won hands down. The building is ornate as you would expect and warm inside. There is am upstairs and a downstairs to accommodate more patrons. Great food, fun, and service. Will be back.

Had a mates meet up in Brennans in Belfast opposite the Europa. A range of selected pints were £4.95 which was a good intro. We had planned to move on for a late lunch elsewhere but the staff were so accommodating and it was comfortable we asked for the bar menu. Between us we had chicken curry half & half, chicken coupons and chips and fish and chips. Everyone enjoyed and the portions were big. I can honestly say my fish & chips was up there with the best...photo attached. Highly recommend

Nice bar in the heart of Belfast which was buzzing and great to see. Only thing was the staff litterly throwing empty bottles into the bottle bin and the noise. Just a small thing but annoying when they could have just put in without the drama, it seemed to be a game they played with each other maybe give them an extra 10 mins to play with themselves and avoid the sexual tension. Just an observation. The security gentleman was a true gent, hats off to him, refreshing to see. 😎 👍

We were met at the door by a barman who explained that it was table service only due to COVID and showed us to a table near the front door. We were immediately aware of an extremely loud group of women who were very obviously drunk (it was around 7pm) and were continuing to be served. There was a live band with a female singer who then set up upstairs. With each new song we were "treated" to our own karaoke version by the increasingly raccous group of females. We noticed the service was very slow as the bar staff were constantly engaging with the group and an older group of four sat at the table next to us had to wait 20 minutes for their drinks, which made them furious!

Eventually the bouncer came in to tackle the women and warned them several times that they would be asked to leave if they didn't behave and keep the noise down. They were served more drinks and then when they proceeded to dance around the bar they were ejected. What wasn't fair was that the barmen and bouncer blamed the older group for complaining so on their way out one of the women came over and protested to them.

We left shortly afterwards. I wouldn't recommend Brennan's for a quiet drink or...

Very disappointed It was 9 o'clock on a wet Thursday evening in late October when our party of 4 thought we'd drop in for a drink. I asked a staff member near the door if we could come in for just a drink, he stated it was table service only, I said we didn't mind sitting for the drinks. He grumpily pointed to a table. We waved to our wives to come in. He went to block their entrance and they informed him they were with us. He then muttered "you'd better F.. in sit down then", We then sat for about 20 minutes waiting for service while he chatted and totally ignored us. I think there were only about 4 other people in the pub at the time. The older member of staff behind the bar appeared oblivious to our presence and chatted merrely away to another couple near the bar. We then gave up and left the pub. Still being totally ignored by the staff. We all concluded this drinking establishment was either anti English or just didn't like serving people after 9 o'clock, particularly if you're the wrong side of 60. Would I/we recommend this pub NO. Would we ever go back to...

Went to Brennan's yesterday as we were hungry and it's convenient to the new Grand Central Station. My partner and I both opted for the highly-advertised "Fresh cod, chips, mushy peas and bread and butter". To say it was disappointing would be an understatement. Dried-up fish, cold skinny fries and a basic small piece of salad, with two slices of Lidl's basic white bread. Our 6yo(celebrating her birthday yesterday) chose the kids goujons and chips and ate basically none of it. Along with a Coke, a white coffee and a very ordinary pint of Guinness, the bill was just shy of £50. My partner actually felt ill after we left. The food was disgusting. Have a word with your chef Brennan's-they obviously take very little pride in their work and your bar will end up a "Beaten Docket" once more. Will...
