We booked a party for 30+ guests. Only one server on duty. The manager did help for the odd time. Food was cold and below basic. The chowder appeared to be veg soup with a couple of seafood pieces thrown in. I was invited, at a later date, to a child's event, upstairs. The upper stairs and landing had no lighting. The room was dingy and ill kept. Children were running about shoeless. My granddaughter caught her foot and a piece of protruding metal. Her little foot sustained a long gash. Luckily we had medical personnel in our party. Staff seemed reluctant to assist but eventually produced a first aid kit. At hospital the foot was glued and dumbells applied. The offending piece of metal had a piece of tape put over it, I believe it is still there waiting for it's next victim.

Been going to The Glenowen Inn for a long time now,I know it's not everyones cup of tea but we as a family have always found the food well made with excellent portions and competitively priced compared to other local restaurants, even had family over from America at Christmas and they were delighted with the home cooked quality of the food and desserts,a well deserved break from the usual fast food style food they were used to eating, the Sunday Roast is a family favourite, just perfect, the girls and guys serving are always attentive and do everything without complaint, couldn't ask for better than that!

Ordered family Sunday food delivery, arrived after over an hour was cold. Well, lets say it wouldn't have been put in front of us had we been in the restaurant (I hope)! See for yourself, starter, main and kids meal. Disgraceful the veg reminded me of school, there were 2 really skinny bits of tempura as one starter and 4 tiny mushrooms as the other.Kids meals two goujons and droopy fries. Inedible, don't waste your money! To top it all, asked when ordering about a vegetarian option just even pasta as a main - got a firm NO. First time and last.

I ordered the chicken stack. To charge £15 for a plate and what was given was pretty steep. There wasn't very much on the plate. A scoop of mash and then 3 mediocre goujons and a single small onion ring. The batter was really basic and would be similar to what I've made before in the house, could've been much better. Mash was great but when is mash not. The peppered sauce had too much cream or something in it to give it a bit of a weird almost sour taste.

I was with a few friends and both the exact same issue.

The menu isn't really great, there aren't any deals unless on Sunday I think it was. Most plates seem to cost around £15 and starters were £5. £20 isn't bad for 2 courses but I found out the hard way by thinking a dinner and a Guinness would've been suffice.

I can't understand why they would decorate up the stairs and not the restaurant I can remember the same seats when I was and going in. It's old and could really do with getting renovated.

I don't know if leaving the door open is the greatest idea to leave the doors open. Fly were all over the place and constantly having to swat them away from the food, not a great look.

I think if you want nice food in a local restaurant you'd have to go to felons. Foods amazing and...

Went here twice last year and it was lovely, at the time had a really nice steak sandwich- BUT…went again this week and ordered a steak sandwich medium rare, but was told you don’t get a choice- I thought, weird but all right. The meal came and it was 80% mushroom and onion with chopped up steak pieces that was dry masked with gravy poured through it instead of on the side to go with chips etc The portion felt like A: too much hassle doing individual steaks, and B: if it’s chopped up you can reduce the servings and get more meals from the same amount. Major disappointment. Now, tbf, it could have been a bad night, short staffed, (staff were lovely but seemed under pressure) etc but the experience was what it was and I won’t be rushing back, and I definitely won’t be having the worst restaurant priced steak sandwich I’ve had in...
