After over 20 years of supporting Goodfellas on Kennedy Way — the popular BYO spot in Belfast — I’m genuinely disappointed to say we won’t be back.
On a recent visit with my sisters, we ordered two pizzas and clearly asked at the time of ordering for half of one (the most expensive one) to be boxed up to take home — not served. The staff member acknowledged this.
It wasn’t until the next day that we realised we never got it. When I called to query both the surprisingly high bill and the missing food, I was told the pizza had been binned — no apology, no accountability. Just: “Well, you didn’t ask for it.”
I also mentioned during that call that I’ve been going to Goodfellas for over 20 years, and had never had a bill so expensive — yet even that didn’t get so much as a thank you for my loyalty or a basic “sorry to hear that.”
We were: – The last customers in the restaurant – There to enjoy a relaxed night out with a few drinks – Clear in our request from the start – And still left a £7 tip, despite the service being minimal
This isn’t just about half a pizza. It’s about how regular, loyal customers are treated — and unfortunately, in this case, the answer is: poorly.
I’ve loved and supported this place for two decades. But sadly, the care, value, and attitude that made it special just isn’t...
Read moreWe are a family of 22 went to this restaurant to celebrate my granddaughters 4th birthday the meals were exceptional service was the same we all had a great evening until an extremely rude member of staff took issue because my son father of the birthday girl was slicing her birthday cake for guests to take home apparently under orders that if you're eating cake your not buying dessert eventhough at least £400/500pnds was spent on the night. Never before has this been an issue with our quite large family dining out together in fact the so called waitress was quite rude especially to older members of our family. It's questionable if we ever dine in this restaurant again her rudeness practically spoiled our celebration her reasoning was they're under orders that since covid all diners aren't allowed to celebrate eating childrens birthday cake because it lowers the amount they're spending on desserts so be aware little children are denied their Happy Birthday cake celebrations because Baahumbug from Scrooge comes to mind absolutely disgraceful Goodfellas...
Read moreTonight my family ordered a few pizzas and one of them came completely different to what we had ordered. We ordered a ‘hot and spicy’ without the chilli base. There was a miscommunication and they ended up sending us a plain cheese pizza. When we called to inform them of the mistake, the person that had taken the original order got extremely defensive and aggressive. We almost decided to just let it go, but I decided to call again, to which once again I was treated with contempt. When I asked to speak to the manager, I explained the situation and the obvious miscommunication. The manager was extremely polite and professional, and sent us another hot pizza (the original order) very quickly. She turned the situation around and did so very graciously and kindly. Thank you for making this right! Pizza was delicious. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is for the initial defensive attitude from the employee answering phones and...
