Atlantis Fish Bar — Restaurant in Birmingham

I come to atlantis restaurant (last night)Wednesday evening. I tried to call up today to make a complaint to be told that there was no one there to speak to and call back tomorrow. This has made me want to make a written complaint now. I was served by a lady on the till that seemed to be very off, like she had other things on her mind and didnt want to be there. I felt like she was rushing me and my friend to place my order as we literally couldn't decide. I went up and took a seat, waited for my drinks and fish dinner. Not to long from me arriving This lady come in with 2 young children which they was very close and touchy with the same staff that served me. considering we are in this awful situation with covid. It made me feel very uncomfortable to see there was no social distance and hands wasn't washed after, nor was the gloves changed, baring in mins she touched 2 lots of money. The same restaurant lady that took for my order brought my drinks and fish dinner up. I had to really think about this complaint as the lady that served us last night is normally lovely and very happy. I must say my food was lovely as always when I go to atlantis. I've marked this right down. We used to love coming here. The service has always been very friendly and efficient and I think it's lovely to be able to sit in a fish and chip bar whilst eating. However, we hadn't been for a while and we ordered fish and chips but unfortunately the fish was inedible. I don't know what happened to it but it was just dreadful. It was like it had been frozen for years and then not cooked enough. The outside of the fish was alright but eating into the middle it was so weird, very very chewy, it wouldn't even cut with the knife. We had to leave it. My dad's was the same and we both agreed that it was just awful. Very very sad as this place used to be gorgeous and they have such lovely people working here. Went for a family meal, was really enjoying the food until I took my next bite of fish, there was a small pebble in my food. The staff told the manager, who came over and said he knows there are no stones in the fish, as he deals with all the fish, he continued to tell me it could have come from the potato and made out as though I had placed the pebble in the food myself. He asked me what I wanted, I asked for a refund for my meal, so the manager then went off to serve other customers leaving me and my children sat there waiting for him. It took him almost 10mins to give me a refund, with no appology. I am really shocked at his rude manner.
