Big John's Perry Barr — Restaurant in Birmingham

Whilst the food was excellent value for the price point, £3 for a filling portion of food, the rest was absolutely dismal. Firstly, the drinks selection is poor. I don’t want to be washing my chicken and chips down with a Coca-Cola rip off that tastes like vinegar. Speaking of, the ‘condiment’ station was pungent with smell of vinegar that almost knocked my socks off!! Salt and Vinegar spread all across the station. Not only was it impractical, as only one person can use it at a time, it is not cleaned as often as it should be. Next, the atmosphere. It is genuinely a frightening store to visit. Whilst I appreciate that Big John’s has always being a slightly higher tier of ‘your local chippy’, it has lost a lot of its lustre. The feeling I get approaching specifically this store and the newly closed down store opposite the square peg left me feeling like I was in a shanty town and not a place I would enjoy eating my food. The floor also seems to be cleaned not as often as it should be and there are usually only 3 staff on shift when this is a clearly busy location that needs extra staffing. Genuinely...

Asked the guy servicing how long will my 1 piece chicken & 6 wings going to take before I order, he said 5-8 minutes. Customers come and go, got there food, my mate ordered same time as me finished his, the other mate received his 6/7 minutes before me, and he ordered the wings, which mine was meant to be spicy once I received the food but were no flavour and vile. The attitude of the staff after I received my food was disgusting, I even told the guy who served me, make sure there’s chilli as I was about to pay, and then after he comes out with, no you have to pay for it. My order was an hour late after placing the order for 18:00 at 16:30 and then the delivery driver didn't bring the Ben & Jerry's which was within the order. He then said he would be 10 minutes and this was 25 minutes ago.

But regardless of this I called up the restaurant at 18:25 to be told my order will arrive in 20 minutes, but after 30 minutes it wasn't here. I called again. After speaking to the lady on the phone the order arrived, but this wasn't before the lady hung-up. Then after waiting for the delivery man to return to rescind his mistake the telephone wasn't only ignored but was hung-up 4 times - of course knowing our number.
