Buffet Island — Restaurant in Birmingham

Been to Buffet Island quite a few times over the years but the last 3 times have not been up to standards. I've noticed that the flavour of the rice and noodles are not very nice anymore (some were dried out) and they have started making the meat either VERY SALTY or VERY SWEET now, so much so that you can't eat much of it! Very disappointed with the whole setup... Also there are no staff watching the ice-cream machine and dessert counter so as the un-responsible parents let their little kids help themselves, I saw kids PLAYING in the chocolate fountain and touching the cones... When collecting our first empty plate, the waitress took the used fork off my daughter's plate and put it back on the table for her to reuse!!! She was at the bar and when she came back was disgusted. She asked for a fork and they took her round one corner to find one! They only have spoons out by the plates now. They want you to use the same cutlery all evening so the have less washing up to do... Imagine, and they charge soo much! I've never seen anything like it at any restaurant I've been to in my life!!!

Didn't enjoy the food much; (only the prawns were ok). The service and atmosphere weren't good either so don't think I'll be going back or recommending again... Such a shame basic standards have...

I like buffet island love the food and stuff myself even when I am full I still eat loads. But Buffet Island you need to stop taking so much people on mother's day especially when people have made a reservation . First choice should be people who have reserved a table not people who decide to come in on the off chance . Last and this year's mother's day both times I made a booking and still was in a long que that was going right back through to the main entrance doors. There were elderly people who had no where to sit and standing for a long time . One family had been waiting since half past three and were still waiting at 4.20 pm . My table had been booked for 4pm . You then told people they had an hour to eat food. Nooo you need to stop this nonsense on mother's day. Stop thinking of all the money you can make and think of your customers it's unacceptable to treat people this way. On mother's day in future you need to tell people that just for that day make a telephone booking then at 6.00 pm let people come in . It's not right. There's no problem with the food it's lovely hot and tasty but the nonsense on mother's day needs to stop and you need to stop telling everyone they are booked in for 4pm. That...

Buffet island is a chinese buffet style restaurant that has lots to offer. There are numerous chicken, pork, beef, duck and fish dishes with various side dishes, starters and sweets. The evening experience also offers a choice of freshly cooked meats and veg of your choice that are prepared as you wait. The lunch time experience offers less choice but there are still plenty of dishes to choose from and the price is very reasonable. The restaurant is always clean and well presented and the serving/food area is bright, clean and inviting. I dont drink so I cant really offer an opinion of drink prices but the food prices are very reasonable considering its an "All you can eat" style buffet. There's also plenty of on site parking. The only negative point and I use that term lightly is that the staff are very keen to remove the used cuttlery and crockery from your table after each plate.. Not really a bad thing but you can feel like youre being watched sometimes.. They are just keen to clear your table to allow you to collect fresh plates of the great food that's...
