BURGER & SAUCE - Castle Vale — Restaurant in Birmingham

I’ve been a regular customer at this specific burger and sauce for a while now and genuinely, I have had nothing bad to say at all until tonight. I went in after work and just wanted to get some fries, I ordered and whilst waiting for my fries, the woman at the tills asked me a very personal question regarding my hijab and my niqab- long story short she was extremely offensive and rude about it by mentioning why I didn’t have the niqab on in that specific moment (my work prohibits niqab and I work locally so I just wanted to grab my food and go home)- regardless, pointed it out in the rudest manner infront of her male colleagues and literally embarassed me infront of them and the customers behind me waiting. I don’t know this woman at all and all I wanted to do was get my food and leave. She was incredibly rude and genuinely upset me to the point where I paid and couldn’t even get my food because I had to leave out of embarassment. I don’t understand how basic human etiquette and respect couldn’t be shown to myself as well as my modesty for my religion. I’m genuinely baffled and I really hope someone speaks to this specific staff member about this as I didn’t say anything back to avoid embarassing her like she did me. I went in around 5:15pm, I really hope this is dealt with and staff members learn just basic respect. This isn’t the first time she’s asked a question like this, I let it slide and did not respond when she said this but I came back from work another time and she slandered her work place and her colleagues saying her and her friend at burger and sauce wanted new jobs and asked me if my job has an opening (I was wearing my work lanyard) I responded I’m not sure and I just want to get my food and leave”. Visited on the recommendation of a friend, and because we've spotted a few of these popping up around Birmingham.

Menu is limited to burgers and fries variants, not any of the usual side dishes normally seen in other burger joints.

Burger options are Beef, Chicken or Veggie. Was undecided between Beef or Chicken, staff were very helpful in recommending the chicken burgers if you wanted something with a bit more substance, as the Beef burger patties are very thin. We ordered a Fiery Chicken special, regular Chicken burger and a kid's meal chicken burger, all combos with milkshakes.

The fiery chicken was a decent sized burger with two layers of chicken, but we found no difference between the kids chicken burger and the normal one. The chicken on the regular burger was unusually thin so we assumed that they had given us two kids burgers. One could assume that a chicken thigh was sliced into three or four layers in order to construct a burger with a such a wafer like layer of chicken. When we questioned this it turned out that the kids chicken burger was actually incorrectly served as a normal burger. This really made us think how small a kid's burger would actually be. We compared the burger to the pictures on the menu and decided that the waitress's explanation of the chicken all being different sizes when cooked as a bit of a fob off. The milkshakes had way too much ice in them which became watery very quickly; These are definitely not worth the price, along with the regular chicken burger. Unfortunately this will not be a restaurant we will return to, as neither adults nor children were full upon leaving, despite the high cost of the meals.

Where to start with this place!!! First of is the food, as everyone loves to find a good place to eat. Best burgers in brum hands down, top quality meat nice fresh and warm definitely above the rest . (Best manager ever) read my first experience . It was a weird one as usually when I order something and don't get what I think I've order im not happy and do t enjoy. Just eat advertised if spend £20 you get free chicken cheese chips, so me and my partner only ordered one portion of chips so with free one we would have one each. When received we had to share chips as free ones wasn't delivered. We wasn't happy but food was delicious still. Phones tonight to ask if we ordered again would they send out the free item plus one missing from last time. The manager explained your supposed to add it to your basket but he is happy this once to send it out. I soon realised this was just eats fault looked on app and it doesn't state you need to add to do basket. Made tonights order and manger was right soon as added to basket it came up free. Thanks to the manager!!!! for helping me out on the just eat app for future orders. Then tonights order the just eat decided to give up looking for my address and didn't deliver my order. I phoned up Castle Vale branch and the manager explained its just eats fault and they are known for it and even though its just eats fault he will send order out to me again free of charge as doesn't want us going hungry not only that will look after me and get a shop worker to deliver it.
