Burger Town — Restaurant in Birmingham

Extremely disappointed in the service provided today by the restaurant staff.

Ordered 5 double stacker burger "meals" - including fries and of course a drink which was a part of the "meal" option on Uber eats. I ordered at 7pm and expected delivery was between 7:45 - 8:05pm. I waited and having not received the delivery within the estimated arrival time, I called to ask how long it would be before receiving my order. I was told they were waiting for the delivery driver and that they were absolutely hammered - I understood this and carried on waiting. The delivery driver arrived at 8:30pm and upon opening the bag there were only 3 burgers, 3 fries and 3 drinks out of 5 of the meals ordered in total. I called once again, this time informing the restaurant that only 3 out of 5 meals had been delivered (obviously including the drinks because it's part of the meal!), and was informed that they'd be sent out asap - it was received just before 9pm which was appreciated and again waited for delivery. Again, once opening the bag, this time the drinks were missing for the 2 meals. The delivery driver was still parked up outside, so had approached the car informing the driver that he may have missed the drinks, he asked us to call the restaurant as he has only delivered whatever he was given by the restaurant. Upon calling the restaurant to inform them of the missing drinks, I was told that when I had called to say that 2 meals hadn't been delivered, I should've told them then 2 drinks had also not been delivered and that "someone else deals with the drinks" and it's not their fault and there's nothing they can do about it now. My responsibility was to inform the restaurant of 2 MEALS missing, this includes the DRINKS as it's a part of the MEAL! I was passed on to someone else who said I should've informed about drinks missing too when I had called about the meals missing. Will not be ordering again after this disgusting encounter.

I should not have been expected as a customer to be aware that "someone else deals with the drinks" and be made to feel as though it was my fault when I am not a working member of staff at this restaurant! When I called regarding the missing meals, the member of staff should've clarified if this included the drinks that weren't delivered if "someone else deals with the drinks".

And if only 3 meals had been sent out in the first delivery, which they were aware of and admitted, why would 5 drinks have been sent out?

I believe the staff can really do with some thorough training in...

I've always been meaning to go to this place as its quite local to me, but for some reason or the other, I end up not going. Today that changed. It's a quiet place, doesn't seem to have enough footfall, which is a shame, because I ordered their "chicken n donna burger" as a meal. it was a little on the pricier with it costing £8, but there's always something about a well made chicken fillet that makes it worth. It was a really nice chicken fillet with a slight spicy kick (I'm not sure if the description said it was supposed to be spicy, but a little spice always makes it better) and a breading with a great texture and crunch. To top it off, the chicken tasted fresh, the donner too, for that matter. With a slathering of Algerienne sauce being the cheat code for making burgers taste better. If there were any criticisms, its just the fries, it's not bad, but it's nothing special either -if its any consolation, they were piping hot and fresh out the fryer. I have eatern at McDonald's in the Middle East and Pakistan as it is Halal there. There are lots of burger places all over the place but none had that distinctive taste of Mconald's. Having said that, my search for a McDonald's Halal alternative in the UK ended when I went to Burger Town. Their burgers tasted exactly like McDoland's. Not only their burgers but even their french fries looked and tasted the same as McDonald's. I met the owner of Burger Town who was a thorough gentleman and he told me that the factory that supplies them burgers is the same that used to suppply McDonald's. Now the factory has shifted to producing Halal products and that's how come the burgers taste exactly like McDonald's. Later on I took my family to Burger Town and they fell in love with the place.
