Me and my family's was enjoying a nice ride around the park when we decided we wanted a sausage roll ,so i ordered 5 yes five and to my disgust i was charged 20 pound yes this is not a joke ,20 pounds ,i was totally shocked and in no uncertain terms told the staff of how disgusting it was ,there come back was a simple "we use organic pork " well i should think so, aren't all animals organic ,the sausage roll on the top of this pic is one of the rolls i paid an average of 4 pounds the one on the bottom is from lidl ,for a pack of six it cost £1.19 im quite sure these are also made with organic pork ,just to put this rant into context 20 pound for five sausage rolls is two and a half hours work for the average person ,just to finish this rant off my severn year old grandson said it tasted awful .i suggest you reevaluate your pricing , because real value for money in todays climate goes a long way .....i for one will not purchase any food of any kind from this tea room unless

A local tea room for local people I got off on the wrong foot. Granted, I should have asked for permission before taking photos. As Cartlands staff meet this action with disapproval. Frowning upon-ness aside I was happy to be in Cartlands. Take a look around and breathe in the history. A member of staff didn’t go into the finer details. He did mention it was once owned by the Cartland family. It was subsequently converted into a school and now is a cafe. I stupidly asked for a coffee, given its name, and the fine crockery that befitted the interior, I should have opted for a tea. Cartlands is split into 2, the cafe with its old fashioned tables, cabinets and chairs and a more modern looking “tea” area. Gauging by the bright, set out Sunday Tea quarters, Sunday tea would be a special experience.

If you in need to charge your phone you need to purchase something before doing it. Forced to get something or I had to go. Could've been handled better by the staff

RUDE STAFF!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I visited King's heath Park for the first time last week. Me, my sister and our 2 boys (3 and 1yr old). We walked through the park, sat on a bench outside this tea room, we had no intention of going in. It started raining heavily, we decided to go into the tea room for shelter (as did everyone else outside). We hadn't even sat down and a member of staff approached us asking for our order, we decided to get a slice of cake to share as weren't planning on staying for long. Our 2 boys were nibbling on some food that we'd brought in with us. I went to take my son to the toilets outside and left my sister to order the cake. Came back, we had the cake, and to be honest were talking about leaving and what to do next as it had stopped raining. Cafe was mostly empty at this point so we were not taking up seats that would otherwise be occupied. A member of staff approached us, you could tell he wasnt comfortable and we thought it a bit off, he asked us if we had ordered anything to which we replied yes we'd had a slice of cake (dirty plate and cutlery still on table!!). He left us and went to tell another member of staff our response (we heard), we thought this was odd behaviour. Next thing you know, she approaches us, points her finger at me and repeatedly accuses me of always coming into the cafe, not ordering anything and feeding my son. I try to explain to her this is the first time for me to come to King's heath! She then points at the table beside us, two ladies with two young children, and says 'theyre doing it the right way' they had a hot drink each. Their children also had breadsticks and nibbles they'd brought in with them in their hands. This member of staff was so rude, I still can't get over it! We left anyway, quite shaken by the way we were spoken to. I know times are hard but it doesnt warrant this sort of behaviour!!! A few days later, I was still quite upset so called to speak to the manager. I soon found out that I was speaking to the same rude member of staff, she again accused me of always coming in, I couldn't believe it!!! After I'd repeatedly told her I have never been to King's heath! So I said to her 'you must see another woman in a headscarf and you think I'm her' to which she replied, well your identical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have accepted this as an honest mistake if she had retracted and apologised on the first accusation but to keep repeating, this is discrimination!!!! She has mixed me up with someone else who also wears a headscarf and insisted I am her, refused to believe me, so in effect accusing me of lying. Maybe we made an error by each not ordering something, but it does not justify the way we...

In relation to this establishment, i would like to address some of the other reviews that have been written. I believe that the prices are more than reasonable, considering the beautiful venue, polite staff aswell as the atmosphere that comes along with it. My dad and nan are regular customers who also have said they “Love the selection of savoury and sweet treats” and feel “Apart of the community” whilst in the tearooms. Therefore, I am upset to see the unpleasant comments that are regarding the prices, toliets and other things too. In regards to the prices, Cartlands prices have remained the same throughout 4 years (including the quality of the products) and the current toliet situation is out of their control. If you don’t know already, the council have decided to close the toliets in the park on the weekends. With this in place, cartlands have had no choice but to open their staff toliets to the general public with exceptions of purchase. However, some people have disagreed with this but have resulted to harassing members of staff and overall creating an uncomfortable environment for the customers too. I have seen this happen during my visit, as a person of the general public challenged a member of staff and continued to verbally abuse them because they where denied access to the toliet. Overall, Cartlands is a beautiful establishment with attentive staff and a highly recommended spot for family...

I am forever disappointed in this place. Firstly the ice creams are ridiculous. £3.50 for a very small and average tasting icecream and £2.50 for a very cheap lolly.

Our 6 Yr old had a massive nose bleed in the cafe, the young girl working there showed some concern but the older member of staff just wanted me out the way. Money had been taken but no ice cream. The child bleeding profusely had a lolly, we had waited about 4 minutes at the top of the queue to have our money taken and the nosebleed lasted for about 10 minutes so the lolly was melted and bloodied... they cared so little I had to buy a second lolly. Our 9 Yr old said he was shocked that they changed for the second lolly. Totally unprovoked he said that this was unkind when a child was crying and bleeding to take more money He then said that business was unkind and only cared about money and not people. I have had that feeling here before and I swore never to return but once here there is no alternative I wish we could have an ice cream van here. At least they usually smile and know how to pour and...
