I've eaten here many times since it opened and it has always been freshly prepared and really tasty. I notice some say it is bland but I would disagree. I've been to Turkey several times and these are authentic and classic Turkish recipes. If you want stronger spices go to King Kebab at the other end of the High St. The meat here is flavoured with spices and also gains a distinctive flavour from the charcoal. Delicious. We usually order the chicken or lamb shish on skewers. The large size is two skewers (about 10 - 12 large chunks) which feels more than enough as the meal includes two kinds of rice, salad and a piece of Turkish bread which is also put on the charcoal briefly. A small meal is one skewer of meat plus the trimmings. You also get a fresh yoghurt sauce and a chilli sauce.
If you're in a larger group I would suggest a platter option. They look pricey but this is better value than ordering everything separately. You can eat in the restaurant but it is fairly basic surroundings. You get your food on a plate but it still feels more like eating in a take away. I never bother waiting for delivery; go and get it yourself. There is a Wetherspoons next door if you don't...

Place itself is fairly small but can get busy very quickly
Ordered a platter for four
Platter contained the following items, lamb kofte, chicken kofte, lamb shish, chicken shish, lamb ribs, chicken wings, lamb donner and chicken shawarma with some bulgar and rice
While waiting for our food to be prepared, was given complimentary turkish bread and some dips
The one dip was really tasty, couldn't get enough of it
The meats themselves was very tasty, chicken and lamb kofte was very juicy and flavoursome 👌💯🔥🔥, meat donner had really flavour to it, likewise the chicken shawarma, lamb and chicken shish was very tender and just tasted delicious
Only little negative was the lamb ribs, we found them not to our liking, also after eating them they left a bad after taste in your mouth
Anyhow, after the meal, ordered some baklava, which tasted devine 💯🔥
Definitely RECOMMEND this place for everyone...

Okay Marmais doesn’t look all that – it resembles a cafe rather than a restaurant, like me if you are a fan of real authentic Turkish cuisine - then put the decor/ambiance aside, go and check out Marmaris you’ll find that for a small restaurant Marmaris is in a different league to any of the Turkish restaurants you'll find...
