The most shocking "English breakfast" you can find anywhere in Birmingham. I should have known better than to try out this place. Given the extensive menu, I should have known that it is a "Jack of all trade master of non" kind of situation. Dont let the trite marble tables with the green chairs fool you. This place needs a serious deep clean. After ordering, the first table I sat on looked like it had not been cleaned, food crumbs with water streaks all over the table left there for new customers to experience in all its disgrace. I moved to another table and the floor under the table was covered with old crumbs and dust. As a germaphobe, this was quite possibly the most uncomfortable and overwhelming 40 mins ever. I sat there, positioning my legs to the side and concentrating on my phone and the very loud music being played in order for me not to think about the dirt under the table. I had ordered an English breakfast without eggs or beans as I do not eat eggs and beans, I knew the plate would look slightly sparce without this, but this was not a problem for me. My food came after 13 mins and what was placed on the table was nothing short of shocking. 2 overcooked, black, oil-soaked, burnt sausages, accompanied with two equally burt hashbrowns and oil soaked, insipid mushroom thrown in the corner. To add insult to injury, they also served two oil soaked limp rashers in the middle. I had to ask for butter for my toast! I was absolutely horrified. I complained about the sausages as they were the most shoking thing on the plate and they apologised and offered to bring out new sausages. I am shocked that anyone would even think to serve burnt food in the first place. The kitchen clearly has no quality control. The new sausages were even worse, oily and wrinkly on the outside and pink on the inside, like they had put it in boiling hot oil which crisped the outside, but left the Inside pink and cold. I could not be bothered to complain futher as it was obvious this is just the quality of food being served. They did not come back to ask if the food was ok nor do I think they cared. I begrudgingly ate the stale toast, drank my drink and promptly left. Never will I be visiting again to experience amature hour at its best, I advice anyone to stay away unless you are buying their 99p chai. Guess it's hard to...

During my recent visit to Chai Haute, I had the opportunity to try a few of their offerings, including the Malai Boti, Desi Nasta, Aloo Paratha, and the highly recommended Keema Paratha. I was served by Maryam and Yasmeen, who provided exceptional service throughout the meal.
Malai Boti: The Malai Boti was tender and flavorful, with a creamy marination that was rich without being overwhelming. The chicken pieces were cooked to perfection, with a slight char that added a nice texture. The balance of spices was spot-on, making this dish a highlight of the meal.
Desi Nasta: The Desi Nasta was a delightful traditional breakfast spread. The selection was diverse, and everything was prepared with a focus on authenticity. The chana and halwa were particularly good, delivering a comforting, homestyle taste. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes you want to linger and enjoy each bite.
Aloo Paratha: The Aloo Paratha was well-made, with a crispy exterior and a soft, spiced potato filling inside. The paratha had a nice, flaky texture, and the filling was seasoned perfectly. It paired wonderfully with the accompanying yogurt and pickles.
Keema Paratha: The Keema Paratha, which came highly recommended, did not disappoint. The ground meat filling was savory and rich, with just the right amount of spices. The paratha itself was buttery and cooked evenly, making it a satisfying and hearty dish.
Service: Maryam and Yasmeen were attentive and friendly, ensuring that the meal went smoothly. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Overall Experience: Chai Haute offers a great mix of traditional Pakistani flavors with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The food was consistently good across the board, and the service from Maryam and Yasmeen made the visit even more enjoyable. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast or a more substantial meal, Chai Haute is a place that delivers on both taste and...
Read moreTried this place today for a small family breakfast. Upon walking into the shop there is no customer service and no greeting whatsoever.
I ordered the food and instead of one kids meal three were brought out. The drink with the meal came after 10 minutes and when it arrived and we opened it we were told that the drink was for a different table - expecting me to take it from my child and give to back to the staff - I had to politely refuse. My halwa puri then arrived which did not taste good at all. The presentation was decent but taste, which takes priority was appalling. My eldest child ordered a waffle which came around 15 minutes after my food, after having to ask where it was several times. This is not great we wanted to have food together not separately.
A refund for the 2 extra kids meals was not offered until I had to go to the till and request it. Had I not gone to the till the staff would not have used their initiative and done this.
The staff appeared too busy pleading with a larger family for a good review that they overlook other customers.
I would definitely not recommend nor will I return. There are many better options in the...
