Having had expert experience of eating in other food establishments , which offer Desi/ South Asian cuisine as a means satisfying my humongous hunger for food, I saw it befitting to come to Chaiwallah for only the third time in three years.
I personally feel that it is safe to say that based off of the quantity of food reviews I have contributed on google , I am a food connoisseur, which is a title I am proud to hold in the home city of bustling, busy Birmingham.
I have tried Ziriyab's in East Birmingham, which was outstanding, the Royal Nawaab's in Manchester which was decent and now I am reviewing Chaiwallah in South Birmingham. Considering the stiff and strong competition Chaiwallah faces from rival restaurants such as Pepe's and ones from surrounding areas such as Ladypool Road, it is quite phenomenal and pleasing to see they have kept a strong customer base since opening in the mid 2010's.
Serving a significantly deprived socio-economic area of Sparkhill, it is an open secret that many residents are struggling to keep up with the rising costs of living and inflation. Furthermore, I believe it is a testament to the kind and caring nature of the staff and the owner to keep the prices fair and affordable.
Service:
On a dreary, dreadful day in October, I was starving and in need of food to satiate my starvation. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the pleasant and powerful smile of my server Aaliyah, who was on hand to meet my reasonable requests when ordering the food. Aaliyah introduced me to the menu, which was available by the counter and mentioned that I could order anything that I wanted and at my leisure. The friendliness shown by Aaliyah is a significant and strong testament to the uncompromising professionalism she carries herself with. Fantastic work Aaliyah !
Aaliyah also came in to check on me and whether I am enjoying food showing the genuine devotion and dedication she demonstrates to customer care. There aren't many places you can go to in Birmingham where the service is fair and fortunate, especially with the rising costs of living.
She deserves a pay rise or a promotion.
Facilities:
There is actually a toilet! May Lord have mercy because it is actually pleasant and powerful that the owners actually care about their customers. This is a rarity especially in a vile society where owners are more concerned about power and profits over the people! The restaurant is a clean, calm and cool atmosphere and very well decorated as well, which is fantastic and fabulous as a customer with very high expectations.
Food:
I ordered the mixed kebab wrap, and the butter chicken bowl with chips, which was a succulent, stupendous and super dish , which was like a party on my taste buds. The coriander in the bowl was a wonderful and wanted addition to my food , which I honestly didn't expect. The extra chutney sauce on the side was a great and graceful present on top of Aaliyah's great presence in Chaiwallah. The kebab was fresh and fantastic, which is great considering again the stiff competition Chaiwallah faces with the surrounding areas in the locality.
Overall experience is 5/5 stars. Well done! It's rare for places to get that rating from me.
I enjoyed my time here and will be coming here the next time... My appearance is only contingent on the calm and confident customer service of the serving staff again.

Read moreThank you very much Chef for the delicious food Alhamdulillah. May Allah swt bless you all with lots of Rehmath and Barkath. My daughter is a fussy eater, she is 6 years old Alhamdulillah, she only eats food that her taste buds appreciate. I am so grateful Alhamdulillah that she loves the omelette with paratha.
I spend so much money on food because my daughter actually can't tolerate certain taste of food. I don't like food getting wasted and my daughter knows that, so she tries to eat as much as she can but when I see her feel sick, or cry as she can't stand the food, then I order from a different place. Hence, I am on Ubereats and order from different places. I have 3 very best places, you are the 4th but hit to the 1st, being at the top of my list because my daughter has been smiling while eating, she loves it Alhamdulillah.
Sorry, I won't make this feedback any longer than I already have and InshaAllah, my future feedbacks will be short and sweet. If you see my reviews via Ubereats of other places, I always leave feedback and it is short unless, I am sincerely grateful or honestly experienced a very bad service. I could have called and shared all that I have said, however, if my feedback can help other customers experience this happy feeling we have experienced, then why not share my feedback. Plus, your food is honestly healthier and not greasy like certain fast food shops. Both my daughter and my taste buds are grateful, for the flavorful taste, Alhamdulillah.
I absolutely love the packaging of the food. I have been fed up of other fast food shops, chucking the food in the bag, because half of the food is wasted spilt all over, in the bag. Your packaging is done so nicely, I honestly feel like just keeping the food in it's package, it looks posh and is neatly done. I also really appreciate the kind notes you send with the food, it is a nice touch and we both sincerely appreciat it.
I tell my daughter and she smiles, it builds a natural rapport and my daughter wants me to order from Chai Wala Stafford Road again, when we next order, InshaAllah. My daughter says thank you to Chef and to Eliya (please pardon me if I spelt your name wrong). Eliya, thank you for your amazing customer service on both occasions, I spoke to you on the phone. We both pray that customers like us get to experience, the amazing food and customer service, like we have and continue to experience.
We look forward to ordering and tasting other dishes on the menu. Don't worry, my other feedbacks of the dishes won't be as long, as this. Smiles and thank you from...
